Hi, I have 2022 FX4 and Fox 2.5’s to install front and rear. Would really like to hear your opinions on which upper control arms are best to buy and if possible why. Thanks again.

I know it depends on whether you have aluminum or steel knuckles. It limits your choices with one I think. I would recommend a UCA that has a greasable high angle ball joint verses a uniball setup. Its protected from the elements.

Thank you, that’s giving me some direction. A 2022 has a steel knuckle, and I believe there is at least five choices now for the steel ones. On the icon one, more than a few people say they dry out and squeak really soon after install and and I am not sure, but I believe you have to disassemble it to lube the bushings again.

Everyone I know who has a uniball style say they require more maintenance. If its not a daily drive probably not an issue, might be worth it too depending on how much you actually use the truck off road. Additionally if you live anywhere thst rust is an issue, these have the same issues. Even stainless pits and corrodes. However some dry lube spray every few weeks would probably take care of it.

I guess you could call a uni-ball maybe a sister to a rod end or a Heim joint ?

I am definitely not looking to cheap out. I’m just looking to get the best component with less worry on it and I do not mind Zirk fittings so I can get in there and grease it as needed every so often.

Yup a uniball is basically a heim joint but instead of a hole it has a stud like a ball joint. I have never lifted an IFS to this extreme before only solid axles. So I cant be of much more help. There are plenty of others thst have. Im sure someone will chime in.

I’m 100% with you. I have lifted way too many trucks in my life but not a I.F.S. Just trying to figure out which upper control arm is very good but least trouble.

I always said IFS were not worth lifting.... Boy was I stuck in my ways. Considering the bronco is an IFS, raptor, ect. I guess I should bust out the card and join the band wagon. When you make a choice make sure you post pictures.

So far it is Icon but I am not 100% satisfied with that choice yet. More than a few folks say they start squeaking way too soon.. I also do not see Zirk fittings on the inside black plastic bushing area’s.

The icons w/ Delta joint are great. Zerks at both bushings and the Delta joint. No way they they can squeak if you grease them..

Thanks but in the picture above if that’s the model - part that you are talking about there looks to be no zerk fittings on the back 2 bushings?

Those are serviceable too. The joint is replaceable which is cool. Alot of people like icons, except one guy on here says they are garbage. I forget who he is but he really dislikes them.

Zerk fittings are a piece of cake to install yourself
If you got the skills to install a lift on your own, you can put in some grease fittings with your eyes closed.
