Wow "can be seen from space" sure makes it sound dramatic and more interesting lol.

Kinda like all of those martians roaming the surface of Mars....

It will be interesting to see how supply and demand plays out over the next year. Contrary to the article stating consumers will shoulder the cost of inflation, buying will slow with rising interest rates. If Ford gets an influx of parts, the market will flood and that’s great for consumers. Hopefully it will be a little bit of payback for the consumer over what we’ve experienced the last couple of years.

News emerged this week that Ford has parked around 40,000 unfinished new vehicles waiting for parts.

We filled up Louisville with Explorer sport vehicles. Much more than 40,000.... What a mess due to a brake design engineer that designed brake tubes where the front went to the back and back to the front and the vehicles would not pass FMVSS requirements... How this guy kept his job is beyond me... I had many sleepless nights on that one trying to get a new design certified...we finally adapted the regular Explorer SUV system and got it to pass with flying colors... Retrofit took months and a ton of $$$! I had to receive over 100 new Master cylinders from Louisville at my house at 3am and spent a ton of time loading them off pallets into my Explorer for delivery to the Bldg 4 test lab...

Best,
Phil

Seems risky to keep them all in one place in the open like that. Just one bad storm and they could wiped out.

I thought I saw an article today that acknowledged it and said the expected to deliver all these by the end of Q4 this year. That will be impressive.

I bet ford would just hate for that to happen. Think of the poor insurance company!

Hi Mike,

When the Assembly Line goes down, at the time, it was $1,00,000 per hour.... Pressure is on and build and park is one mitigation technique...not without its peril though...

Best,
Phil

I wonder if that's what they're hoping for....?
