If I remember, sales tax on my truck was around $2400. Registration is $40 - 45 for a 4 year tag, driver's license is $60 for 4 years, inspections, $20 for 2 years. Trailers you have the option to pay around $200 for lifetime tags.
In NC sales tax on vehicles is only 3%, but you pay tax each year on it during registration renewal for county and city if applicable.

It was $489 for my annual registration renewal on the Ranger.

It does go down each year automatically based on appraised value.

In our state you have to pay sales tax on every vehicle purchase including used (and of course registration renewal fees every year) which means that the state continues recycling tax off sales until the vehicle is junked.

It's the same here too Mike. But our sales tax is 8.8% then we have a vehicle tax which is so much per thousand of the vehicles value. Every year it goes down some as the value lowers but it's still a good chunk of change to shell out every year. I haven't received my new one yet but last years was $602.35 and the registration is only something like $8.00.

I wish the app would show the lock/unlock buttons as red if the truck was unlocked and maybe green if it was locked. It would help know the status of the truck when parked
Honestly I couldn't care less about seeing how much gas and DTE in the app but seeing if it's locked of unlocked would be nice.
Adjusting climate controls would be great too but I'd bet they'd make that a paid feature

I haven't read this whole thread, but I never knew there were so many features (and apparently less now) on the Ford Pass. When I open my app, the only options I see are start, stop, lock, and unlock. Is there a secret handshake or something?

Just touch the tabs at the bottom of the app to toggle through the other options. If you hit Maps it will bring up the location of your Ranger and vehicle will bring up what's on the screen shot below.

Seemed like the most appropriate name. lol ?
Yeah I get that. LOL
I bought up some 303 stuff when I got my truck last month but haven't applied it yet. Was wanting to wait until after I got the paint and small dent fixed by Ford that was there on delivery. I haven't even washed it yet HAHA. Truck goes in next week so I'll do it afterwards.
Then money on a tonneau cover and bed mat, probably some weathertech window rain guards, mudflaps, probably that auto start eliminator although I'm getting in the habit of making it my vehicle startup routine. Then next Mar when we normally get a bonus(not huge) but it should cover some AlphaRexx Luxx headlights and installation or switching to Michelin Tires but the stock aren't that bad to me so I may switch them in year two for some better ones

So yeah it's costing me money HAHA

It's so easy to spend money just being on here as there's so many good builds and cool mods to chose from. You could always save some money and just plug in an LED nightlight to the 110 outlet to kill the ASS. That way you can spend that $100 on something else. Sounds like it time to name yours Money Pit 2. lol

I thought about the nightlight thing but my OCD would get to me knowing that white nightlight clashes with the back of the console LOL, maybe if I could have found a black one but I guess there are times that I would probably use the ASS, if you travel i40 in TN there's always some sit and wait backup traffic due to a wreck lol

Ahh, we have that too along with a nice fat vehicle tax. If you don't trade anything (trade ins you pay the difference between the two) in it's even higher. When I bought my Jeep it was $3,200 just for the vehicle tax! :curse:

Reg here is based on weight. The heavier the vehicle, the more you pay. I guess they're afraid we're going to sink the islands. My KTM was like 80 something, my Ranger was 256

That was always the case; a message is nicer than a spinning wheel with no hint as to what the expectations should be.

That single feature would make the app worthwhile. So, don't get your hopes up. :D
