So I just moved to bright, sunny Florida, and the way my truck is parked in the driveway - well, the sun rises right in front of it and passes over the top. It's just blasting sun and heat through the windshield almost all day.

I want a good sunshade to put in that thing to keep the sun and heat at bay, and to keep my interior from getting destroyed. What are you guys using???? Posts and links if it's worth a damn would be greatly appreciated!

Look up HeatShield Co. Hands down the best there is. A bit pricy, but really good quality and fit.
Made specific for each vehicle....
Have one for the Ranger, wife's Subi. my old Ranger, my old Subi, and have had sets on 2 motorhomes.
Set on my last motor home was purchased in 2013 and was still using in 2021 when we sold it.
If you want one that fits with almost no gap, and you want it to last, this is the one to get.

Ford has a folding panel Sun screen for the Ranger.

My daughter had a Ford Focus and she had one for her ride. When she sold it the thing ended up in my garage orphaned. I’m using it in my Ranger. Fits pretty close

Ceramic tint all around helps quite a bit, this includes on the windshield.

I'm actually thinking about getting the front-door windows tinted to match the rear doors. I'm not sure I wanna mess with tinting the windshield.

When I lived in Hawaii, I did it to every vehicle I owned. Made a huge difference, more comfortable cabin, reduced heat load on the a/c system, etc…. Can’t remember the percentage, but it’s so light can hardly tell it’s there other than it’s benefits.

In florida? Not unless you're driving a Dodge Charger or some other sketchy car they don't care about tint. I had around 7% on my last 2 cars for about 10 years and never got a single ticket or pulled over in Florida

Just go 'old school' and install one of these. No need to fold/unfold like those other windshield shades. Plus you can pull it down just enough to block the morning or evening sun.
