2/16/22 Placed an order with a local dealer
2/17/22 Received an order confirmation email from Ford

Silver Scab XL 100A.
Tow + Lock Diff + Bed Utility + Key Pad + Sliding Rear Window + Mud Flaps.
  • I tried to delete the auto start/stop but there wasn't an option.
  • I'm OK without power mirrors but was also surprised.
  • I did not consider until this moment that the reverse camera may show in the rear-view mirror. Ew but fine.
  • Slightly concerned the rubber floor may be loud but I won't miss the carpet.
  • VERY excited and I'll factory order every car I buy for now on.
The locking diff is a really nice option for getting unstuck. I think someone said that they send the scheduling emails on Thursdays. At least it seems pretty easy to disable auto start/stop if it's really aggravating.

I would expect you to get your VIN/schedule email in two weeks, maybe three.

From what I've been reading, it seems like the semiconductor chip issue is very slowly improving and that the plant shutdowns help them schedule more accurately.

But I'm ever the optimist ...

I hope you hear soon and that we can both look forward to some summer Ranger fun!

2/17/22 Received an order confirmation email from Ford

Wish you luck. I have get a xlt supercab on order since October 13th. No conformation or vin from Ford. Dealer told me last week there is a parts shortage for supercabs and has no idea then it will be built.

Order my XLT scab on 2/9/22. Got my notice 2/17/22 with VIN..........build date 3/28/22. That's not bad! HOWEVER! Ordered my 6sp Mustang 'vert on 12/9/21 and traded my Mazda MX5 on the spot. The plant is on 3 week shut-down and I've heard ziltch! Of course I'm bitching about not having a convertible in the stable and it's 22* outside and snowing sideways.....................the Mailman

Mine was ordered on 02/12, got VIN just last week on Thursday and finally was able to pull the order site up with proper information.

Still nothing new though and don't anticipate anything new for awhile. Truck scheduled for building on 04/04/2022.

I have a feeling my dealer is not being fully forthcoming about my order.
I have received NO emails from Ford, my dealer says my order has been 'verified', but nothing more. I called Ford customer service, they told me this is not normal. Went back to my dealer and explained... They keep telling me this is 100% normal, I wont recieve an Email till my Ranger is being built. As I can plainly see from the last 10 pages of forum I should have prompty received a confirmation Email, and likely a VIN Email by now.

Dealer took my deposit 12/1/2021, fogot to get my signature, so I went back in 12/29/2021 and was assured the delay did not push my build date back. :rolleyes:

Verify that YOUR email address was entered to FORD correctly, and that the dealer email was NOT given to FORD as the customer's email address. It was explained to me by my dealer that FORD is the only one who will notify you regarding status of vehicle (ie ordered, build date, ship date). Dealer has no info as to your order. Once the vehicle is in route to the dealership, THEN the dealer will have more information vs FORD regarding the arrival. A day or two after my dealership entered my order, I received an email from FORD and have been receiving any updates (not many) from them.

I wouldn't be happy in your shoes. For reference, my Lariat Tremor order was placed Jan 11th through my dealer. The dealer asked what email address I wanted to use for the Ford order updates and Ford sent me an order confirmation email the next day. On Jan 20th Ford provided a VIN and let me know my order was scheduled for production with a build week. A few weeks later they let me know the build had slipped a week, and using the VIN and the Ford online system I can now access the window sticker and see that the build is expected to start this week. Its not cool if dealers are keeping customers from this. And if your dealer really entered your order Dec 1st, it smells fishy that yours isn't built yet unless there was an option on it that is delaying it. Not cool.

I ordered on Jan 6th and it's scheduled to be built on wed Mar 16th. Not to terrible here. Should have it in April sometime. I'm only a couple hours from the factory so I don't imagine shipping will take long. Good luck to you, hang in there.
Ranger SCRW lariat, tremor, velocity blue, no extra options.

I had called Ford Customer Service and the very nice gentleman looked up my info, knew my Email address, phone number, mailing address, but no order. He gave me a list of info to collect from the dealer: An order number Starting with F x digits long, dealer# etc. The dealer did not provide. They gave me a print out, very tiny print that showed my order# with them and status as verified. That is all I've had.

Ohhh shoot.......
I see why they might be playing games with me. Shortly after I ordered (Dec 1.) I requested 2 changes to the order 1. block heater 2. color changed to white. I see they block heater but the color is Shadow Black... maybe they know they messed up and didnt update the color?..

I don't like it... I placed an order at the dealer and got an email the next day (evidently emails are sent on Thursdays).

Good luck - don't let 'em push you around.

My schedule date was pushed a week to 04/11 (so far). Don't mind the wait, and it so far seems to be about the correct timeline.
However, the news (and another recent thread) have indicated the chip shortage is affecting the production once more, to the point of FORD (and other manufacturers) temporarily eliminating certain non-safety related options upon delivery of new vehicles with the promise (so far) to install those chips within a year.
Between the parts they have been eliminating over the few years, the delays, the chip shortage, dealer staffing issues, dealer part ordering delays for repairing warranty items...it does not make me feel any better ordering a new vehicle. :frown::brokenheart:

I see it says a 2021. They stopped taking orders for 2021’s around the end of September. Can’t understand why it shows 2021 with that order date
