The Lariat wheels are growing on me but when we bought the truck Saturday evening, we really preferred the magnetic wheels with OWL's on an XLT on the lot but really wanted the leather seats of the Lariat.
I found some magnetic take offs 2.5 hours from my house and keep going back and forth between spending the money and time to go buy them or to just wait and see if something closer eventually shows up.
Do y'all see any issue with swapping these 17" rims/tires with my 18's?
Also, what do you think is a fair purchase price for these take offs?

No issues at all. I bought a set of 17” OE take-offs for my Lariat, too. My 18s are the craptastic and expensive PVD chrome, so I won’t run them on the salted winter roads. I look to eBay for competitive market pricing. I’ve seen the same wheels recently for under $500 shipped, with no sensors. Make sure you get the center caps. They tend to be expensive as separate items. Bonus if they come with the OE TPMS sensors. I allow zero for used tires when buying.

Thanks, that's good info! They do include the sensors but hadn't thought about the center caps. I'll definitely see what this guy thinks he could ship them to me for.

It's going to cost a lot to ship them

Road trip would probably be cheaper.

How many miles on the takeoffs?

The Hankooks are garbage in the snow. Wouldn't pay too much.

Thanks. It sounds like the takeoffs never even left the dealership which is a definite plus.

I live in Georgia so these tires will probably never drive in snow and it's my wife's Ranger so it'll probably never even leave the pavement.

Factory wheels are generally pricey compared to aftermarket.

$1200 seems fair to me, I'd maybe go higher. What are they asking for them?

I was kind of thinking of doing the same for my Ranger but I have spent a ton of money already in my first year of ownership. LOL.

I have a 2021 Lariat with the BAP (Black Appearance Package). I have 18" black wheels. Overall, I like the BAP, but the wheels are my least favorite. They actually seem cheap looking to me.

I bought a gently used set of 17" magnetic wheels (sport package) for my winter tires. I actually prefer the look of the truck with the 17" magnetic wheels. In stock sizes, the rubber on the 17s is ever so slightly taller than the rubber on the 18s too (265/65r17 vs 265/60r18). I will post pictures of both wheel setups.

I drove 250 miles to pick up the wheels. I was lucky to have a friend living nearby. I made a weekend out of it and visited with my friend.

I paid $300, including TPMS. The wheels were perfect, like new, except one has a small scratch. I got a great price. IMHO, used OEM wheels should sell for ~$100 max each, maybe $500 for a set with TPMS. Just my thoughts. YMMV.

Get what you like. 17s will provide better overall performance off road. Half off retail is where i start for used parts ( car, bike, fitness ect) If the seller wants alot more than that let em sit on their sideyard, especially since the tires are not premium

About half that price so I'm thinking it's a good deal.

Ask your dealership if they have any take-offs or if they can check other dealerships.
A few years ago I bought a set of Mustang take-offs complete with tires from a dealership for $600, brand new.
Yeah, and the dealership that I bought the truck from, Akins Ford in Winder, GA is really big into doing these take offs. I emailed them and they responded back that they don't sell the take offs. It makes me wonder what they do with them then. https://www.wildwilliesaccessories.com/

Yeah, you got a great deal. There is a set closer to me for $400 and they claim to be in perfect condition but they're off a '19 and have anywhere from 5k-10k miles on them. They're a consideration as well but really like the idea of the brand new ones off of a '21 model.

I swapped the 18" lariat rims for 17" Tremor rims and tires with TPS sensors that were a take off from a member on here, drove 3 hours one way to get them. paid $1200. made a fun day out of it with the wife. Was well worth it to me since thats what I wanted. my original rims/tires/sensors are in my basement. I may use them if I take a drive to Florida or something as the Hankooks are a bit quieter/smoother on asphalt over the Grabbers.
