Howdy, I just bought a 2021 Ranger for the wife and I want to put black wheels on it. My local tire shop said something about not being able to find wheels to fit without modifications. All I want it the same size, mounted on the factory tires, just black. Am I missing something here? Been looking at this... Any reason I can't slap these on without any kind of modifications? Total noob here, so using small words helps...:frown:

NO expert but just look around this forum. There are hundreds if not thousands of Rangers with new wheels. So that sounds very odd to me. I'd get a second opinion elsewhere

Thanks. Can anybody see any reason why the wheelset I posted won't work on my Ranger? Attached are pictures of what's on there now.

There are several members on here who are selling their black factory 18" wheels from the black appearance package of you would want to go that route.

I am one of those people selling my black appearance plg wheels. Are you by any chance in WA state? Not sure what it would cost to ship these….

factory wheels are +55 offset.
those wheels are 00 offset. you're going to move the tire out a further 55mm.
that creates an arc of the tread into the wheel well that will likely contact the crash bars.
if you want that much poke outside the normal position, there are aftermarket crash bars that give you extra clearance.
This.

Thanks! But I'm in the San Francisco bay area, shipping would be epic...

I just want it to look normal. So then I need wheels with a 55 offset?

zero would look pretty different, 25 offset might not be noticed if everything else is stock

Here's one of the sponsors on here with wheels. Lots of places to check. discount tire direct too. you don't have to go with 55 offset you could use 20, 25, 30 offset. they would move out some but not as much as zero

https://www.stage3motorsports.com/2019-2021-ford-ranger-2021-bronco-18-wheels.html
So, (Be patient with me here) the offset will determine how much the wheel/tire combo sticks out from under the fender? 55 would be flush, like from the factory, and 20, 30, 40 would make them stand out in varying degrees?

Keep an eye out on Craigslist . SF area has several sets of black appearance package rims with tires. Most are take offs with 90%+ tread. Sets are usually in the $600 range (Seen as low as $450). May have to add the TPS sensor. There is currently a set of Tremor rims in LA but he want $1500, twice what I want to pay.

Brian, this will help you see what an offset different than the +55 we have on our Rangers will look like. It's easy, and very helpful. I just had the same situation looking for wheels to fit my Jeep Wrangler. I didn't want the tire outside the fenders, and this little calculator helped me greatly.

https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/

BTW, after all of my searching I found a set of Rubicon take-offs on FaceBook Marketplace that I bought. I knew they would fit with no problems.
