lol...ok you're right!

No I'm pissed because Ford changed the rules and screwed their customers and rewarded the bigger dealerships. If they came out up front and told everyone this was going to be an allocation system. that wold be one thing but they didn't.
After two calls with Ford Customer Service, the second person told me "as far as they know, the change in how orders are filled applies to all Ford and Lincoln products". So next call was to dealership. Sales Manager was hot. Calling his owner because while the dealership I ordered from is a small farm town dealer, the same owner has five more Ford dealerships, including three in the Chicago suburbs.

I wonder how Ford's Express Buy that they Jim Farley was just raving about in July is going to work; that idea was skipping dealerships for placing orders altogether - order straight from Ford and then select a dealer to pick it up from. I'm betting that dies a quiet death now.

I just got off the phone with Ford corporate. Had to be transferred 2 more times until I finally got to the "Bronco Team". Spoke with Amanda who was extremely nice and told her about all this. Of course she said "we haven't heard anything about this and as far as I know it's still based on timestamp". So I told her about Mike Levines Tweets and if it were true he had every chance to straighten things out on Saturday. Only he made things worse by his Tweets. I read the Tweet below to her and she asked me to send it to her which I did. She did say they've been getting a lot of calls regarding this today so hopefully Ford wakes up.

What's really sad/ironic/funny is that he acts like the dealers would get those other vehicles if they ordered them. I get that the supply chain is all sorts of FUBAR but stay the course. Nobody is happy waiting but if Ford would've have stayed true to their word and just filled what they can as fast as they are able, they had a better chance of this not becoming an even bigger shit show.

There is a misunderstanding here someplace! A customer sale is not an allocation.
The problem we had with the Ranger was building and shipping high content (high profit) trucks
over more basic trim levels.
I my case, even after my truck was built, far after initial build date, Ford shuffled it around in the transport lot preferring to ship high content trucks, even those built long after mine.
I finally contacted one of Ford's contract trucking companies who looked at the situation and generously went straight to the lot, picked up my truck and delivered it alone on a transport to my dealer the next day. When I arrived to inspect my new truck, my dealer was not even aware that it had been delivered. the keys and the paper work languished on the sales manager's desk until I walked in, took the keys, and informed them to start dealer prep.

Exactly! But what he's saying in that Tweet is if you don't sell a lot of our product you're not going to get rewarded with allocations. Small dealerships can only sell what their market demands...period!

So Granger being a small IA dealer found a way around this. Bring more customers to them by offering invoice pricing on the newest/hottest vehicle.

But you weren't promised your Ranger by timestamp were you? That's the issue here, nothing else. Now Ford changed this to an allocation system which changes everything for reservation holders. Small dealers get less vehicles and big dealers get more. If they said this from the beginning that would be ok but they didn't.

That's a great shot across Fords bow Dave. I'm not sure I believe that she hadn't heard about the change in the allocation formula, but it is a big company so it may be true. However, as it stands, with so much being posted on social media, I'm guessing even the clean up crew knows it now.

I posted my displeasure on Fords community page, and the service manager at my local dealer gave it a "like". So, it's getting some traction. I can't see how Fords fat cats can just ignore it much longer.

Glad to see it's gaining steam and you're right, the big wigs can't ignore this much longer. I just glanced over at B6G and there's got to be 6-8 more threads on this and not one has anything good to say about Ford right now.

Also if I reading this right did Ford change the percentages and LOWER the allocations from 50%-25%? If so that's another huge blow to smaller dealers and a real :asshat: move by Ford.

Another thing many aren't looking at is a lot of these 2021 allocations weren't fulfilled and they carry over into dealers 2022 orders which takes another bite out of their allocations. So instead of upping them (to compensate for 2021) they're getting lowered.

Yep, you're reading it right brother. After a couple of days in the fog, the fog has finally lifted. And, I don't know what I'm going to do. I wanted a damn Bronco, and I wanted it before I was too old to enjoy the thing. There's really nothing out there that compares for me. But I do know that I will not cancel my reservation. However I will give Zach and Granger the option to keep the Bronco, and sell it as dealer stock if I move in a different direction. I'll just be damned if I'm giving that slot back to Ford.

You know that's a great idea and I'll do the same. I'll keep my order and if it doesn't get filled in '22 I'll keep re-ordering it and let Granger keep it, they deserve it!

I agree that has been an issue, but Ford confirmed to me today that they are in fact shifting order fulfillment to pacify high volume dealers. They admitted my Lariat (along with others here that have their truck built except for whatever needs chips) is being skipped over as parts come in so that they can fill customer orders and dealer allotments from higher volume dealerships. She actually told me they are doing this across the line for all models - high volume dealers are starving for products. We've seen in this forum that several members have "high profit" trucks were ordered in April and May that have built but are been waiting for chips since August and September, while other members have had the same trim of truck ordered, built, shipped, and delivered in the timeframe the earlier builds are still waiting for chips. It didn't make sense in the past few weeks when we started seeing orders placed in August showing up in customer hands but now is certainly does. For me personally the irony is that my dealership is one of five Ford dealerships owned by the same group; if I would've driven an extra hour to one of their superstores to order, I'd have my truck.

After my parents had a bunch of issues with their 2013 f150, I suggested they look at Tundras. Their f150 broke down and left my mom stranded like 5 times. Their response was they just wouldn't buy that brand.. I then read an article juxtaposing F150 reliability decline having no effect on F150 sales. Ford will have no problem selling broncos and sometimes people just get the short end of the stick. I feel bad for anyone in that situation. MY22 Gladiator order banks opened Friday if that's your thing.

14 new Fords, each was promised to be processed and built in the order in which the orders were received. Impossible to know whether they did so, but all have been delivered in a timely manner, except my Tempo and my 2019 Ranger. The Tempo had legitimate delays.

I am familiar with dealers from small to huge in my area. Ford's treatment of dealers gets complicated and unfair at times and always has.
The 2019 Ranger is the only vehicle which Ford actually failed to be fair to me. They also proved to be uninformed and somewhat incompetent. All my recent problems have been with Ford Marketing incompetence and failure to keep promises made.
They even reneged on the $750 early order bonus which was in writing.
Fortunately My contract with the dealer was hard money in writing , so the dealer was obliged to eat it or deal with Ford for that money.
