Does anyone else have this problem? If I give it some gas to merge onto the freeway, it'll throw three codes.
Powertrain Malfunction, Hill Start Assist and the Collision Assist, but I'll turn it off and it'll clear the codes.
I'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem or if mine is just special or something

I had a problem with bad ABS sensors. What was happening was water was leaking into the connectors, causing them to get rust on the pins and drop data when they got wet. Was it raining or wet when it threw codes?

If my experience was worth anything, I'd bet it's a bad ABS sensor. It took four trips to the dealer in under 500 miles before they figured it out.

Update: They replaced the throttle body since they said it was sticking; went out the same day and it threw codes again. Took it in and they've had it for the last week saying they need more time with it. Less than 1,500 miles and a month of ownership and I've had it half the time due to powertrain malfunction. I'm thinking about pushing for a lemon since I live in California and I've literally had the truck for a month and half of the time it was in a shop. Opinions or advice?

You can lemon law in CA I think after 3 attempts to repair. When we contacted an attorney for a VW buy back they told us we need to request with the manufacturer and they need to decline before we could use an attorney. Thankfully VW was SUPER easy to work with and we did not need an attorney.

I think they specifically mentioned they need to attempt a repair 3 times, meaning a part change or something along those lines.

The problem in my area (southeast) is if you lemon law a vehicle like the Tremor you'll never find another on any dealers lots. And of course if you order one you could be looking at a 4-5 month wait. If it were me I'd give the dealer a little more time if it's possible to do without the trunk a little longer. Maybe ask them about the ABS sensor as Jim @JimInAllen suggested. Good luck, I know how aggravating a problem like this can be.

Have them either run the truck through the car wash 3-5 times, or spray the axle with a pressure washer. I'd bet they'd find water in the connectors.

If they can't do that, they are only $42 bucks. Buy some new ones and shrink wrap the connectors. That's what they eventually did with mine. No problems since.

I guess I had a very unique instance since it was the throttle positioning sensor. They replaced it and put miles on it to verify but now I can floor it and it doesn't throw powertrain codes. They gave me some gas vouchers which will get used since gas in California is expensive and also they're going to take care of my upcoming month's payment.
