Lunch today at Whiskey Rose at Westgate. It's a restaurant in the entertainment district near the State Farm Stadium where we went to the Mecum Action today. The nachos were a meal in itself!

The Army and Navy guys in our dental lab class were astounded by our AF chow halls dining facilities-- "Man, this is like fine dining compared to our chow halls".

2 things the Army, Navy and Marines will never knock about the Chair Force--our chow halls and the sound of an A-10 rolling in with a brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttt

What makes a restaurant great might not be the food, setting, or location. But how you feel when you go there. The type of place you dream about going back to or you go to every chance you get because you are welcomed there.

Yup. I've lived in Wisconsin all my life but when I was a kid I got to go to Ivar's fish bar in Seattle. It was then I discovered I like steamed clams with butter. There was a whole sense of wonder during that time. I don't get to Seattle often, once every few years on business, but I'll never miss the original Ivar's on the pier. Just good seafood and a good feeling.

Some restaurant in China which I can't pronounce nor write. Delicious foods, but I'm not sure what they were. There were at least some frog, pig belly, cow intestines, etc.

For simpler best restaurant I'll name Finnish Defense Forces.

The place was at outdoors in a 5-6 feet hole in the ground of which bottom was covered in water. Generic looks were bland, no tables and chair was a helmet. Cutlers were fused together to this funny spoon-knife and the food was server in aluminium can. Service was nearly non-existing and had to wait for the food for like 48-50 hours. But when it got there I had heavenly tasting roots & meat soup.

Best pizza I had was in Addis no idea of the name of the place, best view was a place in Baltimore...hausners...it was an art gallery with really good food... Best eats was outside of fort Gordon... Place looked like a couple shacks tremendous bbq. Best burrito was at a food truck in Gaithersburg MD... I could go on and on with best steak or best diner or best rockfish or crab cake or best memory of a meal... So much of my life has been defined by the times sitting down with someone and taking time to enjoy the meal and company...each memory is special to pick one is an injustice to the many special meals I have enjoyed
