Just finished this, the most recent Swedish Mauser (6.5X55). Boyd's laminated birch stock, new stepped military issue barrel fastened to the original 1899 action, Burris 6.5X20-50mm, hand-loads at 100 yards. This was the first trip to the range yesterday, 4 shots into 3/4" at 100 yards, I'm pleased with the accuracy on this build.

I knocked my front teeth out with one of those, don’t look down the barrel and pull the trigger :crying:
Sorry to hear that Doc. That was another reason I bought the 20Ga for less recoil and I have a bad right wrist. I watched a bunch of video reviews before buying it and most were shooting from the hip with these. You can shoot normal with them but you'd better have a good grip on it or else.....well you know.

Yeah, I was shooting bird shot all day long, but we had a rabid dog come around so I loaded it with 00 buck. We were leaving the camp and I saw him on the side of the road. So I pointed it out the drivers window and bang. Not the same recoil As #9 birdshot...stock hit me in the mouth and blood went all over the windshield and my buddy in the passenger seat..”If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be Tough ! Oh yeah, I missed the dog ....

My newest addition. Unfortunately I have lost this one in a boating accident recently ?

Nice set up. It's funny how mine all mysteriously disappeared too. ?

I'd like to have one 410 or 20. $500 seems a bit steep though...sign o' the times I suppose :curse:

One more to add to the want-list.
Bryan, good to see you back! Actually $500 isn't all that bad as I paid $300 for mine a couple years ago. I saw these somewhere else last summer (when in stock) going for $750. PSA had them on sale a few times for $250 but those days are long gone. I have noticed gun prices have leveled off and even seen some "reasonable" priced ones lately. Probably because ammo is so scarce and expensive no one's buying them.

Yah, thought I'd poke my head in - I'm still here!

I know I've seen those cheaper, but yes, it was a while ago. Since I'm not looking for a truck gun, I've also considered the Cruiser in 410 or 20 for the house. Maybe by the time I get around to buying one, the prices will come back down. Too many other toys...lol

Some good news for us here in AZ!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-state-lawmakers-seek-nullifying-140310144.html

In Arizona, a Senate proposal that passed the chamber on Wednesday would allow officers to be sued for enforcing federal gun restrictions that the state considers violations of the Second Amendment. They potentially could face criminal charges. A bill in the House doesn't include those punishments, but its sponsor, Republican Rep. Leo Biasiucci, said it would be a clear rejection of federal restrictions on assault-style weapons, high-capacity magazines or other firearms.

"They can do that at a federal level, but in Arizona it’s not going to fly,” he said.
