Dealers can still get them. $399. I called my dealer and asked but I changed my mind on the Ford ones and am going aftermarket. I do have to wait for the couple I like to be made for the Ranger.

One good thing about running boards that a lot of people don't know. Is that they add a little protection against door dings by other people in parking lots. Their door hits the running boards and not your truck. Hence why I prefer them for that over their functuality.

Go to the Dee Zee web site. They have the Hex Steps and brackets for the Ranger. Brackets are DZ66328. Carid also has them. They are around $150 - $160 for brackets.

PS - ordered the Dee Zee Hex Steps. Ordered the rail and steps from Amazon for $351 and the brackets from Jegs for $162 with shipping/tax.

I purchased my running boards from DeeZee. They came right away and a much nicer, I’m my opinion than the stock boards and cost around $550 including the mounting kit. When they arrived I got an email stating that the mounting kit would ship March 26th. Inconvenient but I could live with that. On the day they were due I got an email apologizing and saying that they would ship on the 29th. When I did not get them by April first I emailed the company and they sent this:
Dear Robert,

Thank you for contacting CARiD.com!

We are sorry for the delay. The brackets were not in stock and we had to reorder them from a different manufacturer. The current estimated shipping date is set on 04/16.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact CARiD.com, we will be glad to assist you!

Thank you and have a great day!

I think that they are selling what they do not have and wanted to get the orders regardless. How am I suppose to have a great day when my running boards are on my couch and not my Ranger!

BEWARE !

The stock running boards are almost useless unless you're short and need them to get into the vehicle. I'm 6'2 and they are way more annoying than useful to me. They get my pant leg dirty every time if I'm not paying attention. I'll be removing them as soon as the ground isn't 30°
I agree. I am 6' and they are useless but my wife likes them so.......

I went more for the look than function. May change to a Go Rhino, Westin model I like when available.

I am adding factory running boards after getting the vehicle (which I got last Tuesday). But my dealer has said for 3 weeks that at this time he can't get them from the factory. Don't know if that means they are out or just putting them on the trucks they are producing. He did put me "at the top of the list" whatever that means.

I was wondering if it was cheaper to buy the 5" Rectangular Running Boards from the factory or have it installed by my dealer.

From Ford's website, it shows that the 5" Rectangular Running Boards are $635 when installed at the factory. However the leaked accessories guide shows the same running boards only being $399 + 0.5 hours of labor to install. Even if labor is $130/hr in the San Francisco area, the price should only be $399 + $65 total.

Of course labor is free if you do it yourself.

My dealer charged me $450 + tax for parts and install.
$350 for the boards and $100 labor.

I had the same experience with my DeeZee Hex Steps. I ordered the brackets from Jegs and they were backordered by DeeZee. So I sat for over a week with the steps taking up space in my family room waiting for the brackets. After 3 calls to Jegs who checked with DeeZee on their status each time and each time was told they would ship within 24 to 48 hours, they finally got them shipped after the Jegs gal chewed DeeZee out for not shipping when they initially said they would. Very satisfied with the results and easy install.

I just got off the phone with my dealer. They are saying $496 for the black supercrew ones. He says he can do match the $399 price if I can show it to them online. Has anyone seen these listed online anywhere for $399? I am not sure if the screenshots above would be enough to get the job done.
