I got this that I'll be using for the trails I know could have potential pinstriping, will save some time on washing too.
Yup. That's what I was referring to. It's a great idea, but I'm always a bit weary about putting it on a not-completely clean vehicle and the effort to tape up all the potential pinstripe locations is significant if it's just a shorter trip that doesn't have much (if any) potential.

a pretty camping spot in the black hills (SD), off a logging road, off a forest road

I wouldn't be upset if you shared the exact location of this spot. haha I've been planning a trip to the Black Hills for awhile and this looks like a perfect spot.

and here: photos not from the trail itself but from the undercarriage check afterwards: broken arrow trail, sedona AZ.

(trail too busy and we were too stimulated by the driving for photos en route)

a lot of folks talk about the fragile underparts of the stock fx4, so thought i would upload this as a data point. it makes as much sense to put it here as anywhere else, i guess.

broken arrow, newbie offroaders, bone stock fx4, relatively loaded truck (has all our possessions and work stuff from moving between jobs). skid plates took all the hits, not a scratch on the various critical hardware (diff, control arms, etc) or panels or bumper etc

the plate under driver seat. this took all the real hits as far as i can tell. i tend to put the obstacles im not sure ill clear under the driver wheel, so it makes sense i came down on this plate a few times.

front skid. no harm, no foul.

scraped the bottom of the tow assembly a couple times on the steeper departures.

Continued from my post above, here's some dash cam shots of the route out!
If you don't mind giving up your spot, what area is this? Kinda looks like a place in Mio I go to.
