I checked the dimensions and this thing is on par with the new Ranger on height, width and length. It is also rear wheel drive. This thing is so close it really makes me wonder if it isn't using the new Ranger underpinnings.

This new vehicle gets the 2.3L EB and a 3.0L EB. I see this a potential for future Rangers to get a nice engine upgrade or for this to power a future Ranger Raptor.

The 2.3 EcoBoost in the 2020 Explorer also gets 300 HP and 310 LB TQ, which is right on par with what the 2019 Ranger supposedly gets on premium 91 Octane fuel.

Noticed that as well! Thus the reason for the speculation.

Looked it up, the 2019 Explorer makes 280 HP and 310 LB TQ on regular 87 octane gas. If the 2020 Explorer still uses regular gas to get 20 more horsepower, that's some impressive gains.
