Finished up the 2.5" leveling kit install.
I will say the instructions said to remove the caliper and rotor to eventually remove the wheel hub to separate the half shaft so it would not get pulled out.
I did everything I could to separate the half shaft from the front hub. I used a brass punch as the instructions stated to try to beat the half shaft loose from the hub. The half shaft would not budge and is firmly seated in the front hub.
The truck is brand new, 175 miles but had been sitting on the lot for almost a year, 320 days, thus the good deal on the price. I am guessing that front half shaft seized up in there?????
Since the half shaft would not unseat, when pushing down on the LCA to get clearance, the half shaft popped out of the diff. No big deal, just turn it back and forth and it will re-seat when putting it all back to together. Attmeting to remove the half shaft was a waste of time. It can be done without doing that.
The only fix I had to come up with was the ball joint on the sway bar. It popped off when I was pushing down on the LCA for the clearance needed. I used a c-clamp and it slid back on no problem once everything was back in place.
The stance is noticeably different. New tires go on tomorrow.
