Really awesome build. I will be copying many things. Thanks for being the guinea pig!
ha ha no problem. There should be a few more things coming down the pipe too.

Decided to order the swing out tool box from my dealer. I used my Ford Pass points so I only ended up spending 12 bucks. I was very unsure about getting it but now that I have it I’m super impressed. The extra space is perfect for tie down points, cables, and tools. The only thing that makes me angry is stupid Ford only putting in four tie down points instead of the six it’s supposed to come with. The box requires to have the tie down bolts for it to be installed. And surprise surprise the bolts and tie downs are back ordered.

Good God Andrew, your gonna be the death of me, I like that and its not taking up vital space either, I see that little accessory in my future. Do you have a Part # do you know about how many points it took ?

Ford VFL3Z-17N004-B Pivot Storage Box

Answered my own question

Also a good thread

ha ha yup. They took all the points which is 210 dollars. Amazon has pretty much the same thing for 199. My dealerships was selling them for 220 I believe and I got a 20% discount. Pretty much paid for taxes. And don’t worry my wallet is hurting too.

Added some weather stripping to the tailgate. Hopefully this will help keep water and dust out.

It took all 42000 points which is 210 dollars plus I paid 12 bucks. And yes that’s just for one box.

Really nice job.

I also have been a Tacoma fan since my first a 1987 Turbo reg cab from when I lived in ABQ. I am not buying right now, but the plan is in 2022 or so, but I love looking at nice builds.

ya the next few years will be interesting in the mid sized market! Possibly a new Ranger, Tacoma, Frontier, and GMs.

Agree and that is what I am hoping for, I am thinking the market could become very competitive. I have a great 2006 GX470 with 3” lift, bumpers, winch, skids, rock rails and more, but could use a pickup again. Need something with better MPG as I take some long trips, 2018 was to the Arctic Ocean and Alaska and I am planning more like that.

that’s sounds like the perfect over landing vehicle. That has the 4.7 V8 right?? I sort of miss my 06 Tundra but it’s nice having a new vehicle too with all the bells and whistles. One thing I’m disappointed with is fuel mileage in midsized trucks. I don’t understand why they can’t get better numbers then full sized trucks. There virtually the same.

Thanks, yes a 4.7 V8.

The fuel mileage is one of the things I am waiting to see if it increases. My brother in law drives a 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 V6 8 speed and does 20-24 on the highway coming to Colorado and going back home. If that full size can do that, then a midsize with less weight should be 24-28.
