Was playing around with my drone a bit this afternoon and got some great shots of my Ranger! Check it out!

Love it! Making me even more anxious to pick mine up. Hopefully Saturday.

A few more pics from today too! Had to get some good shots in on a very nice early spring day here in Michigan before the weather takes a dip again!

Go to try out the Yakima GateKeeper this weekend! Picked my bike up from getting a tune up! It worked very well and was super convenient! This thing is definitely going to get a lot of use! Easiest way to install it is to hold the tailgate at a 45 degree angle to pass the straps through underneath, and everything else can be done with the tailgate open or closed!

However, it is important to note on the orientation of the part of the flap that is towards the inside of the bed. We tightened everything down and tried to close the tailgate. It closed, but there was a bit of a difficultly to close it. With some investigation, I found that the flap was actually partly covering the latch mechanism for the tailgate. You can see in the pictures below where the indent on the Yakima Cover is on the seam where it was in front of the latch, and match sure to watch these corners on both sides to verify no interference or damage to the truck or rack!

Sunday also surprised us a bit here in Michigan with another dose of winter on the last day of March! 60s and sunny 2 or 3 days ago and winter again on Sunday! Crazy weather! And didn't think the Ranger would see any snow/ice until the end of the year! But that's Michigan weather for you! Anyways, took some snowy Ranger picks here! Enjoy!

Also put my Yakima Rack products on order this weekend and got some great deals between REI and Moosejaw!

Ordered:
Yakima Overhaul HD (REI 20% Off)
Yakima HD Bars - Large (Moosejaw 20% Off)
Yakima Tonneau Kit
Yakima SideBar Side Rails (REI 20% Off)
Yakima TopGrip Paddle Carrier

I should be able to get everything within the next week or so I am hoping, however the Tonneau Kit is on back-order right now, so that is definitely the unknown. Those deals at REI and Moosejaw were hard to beat right now though, as the prices that these rack components were at, those 20% discounts made a big difference! The sales at Moosejaw and REI go on until April 7th and April 8th respectively, so if anyone else is looking for some racks or any other outdoor gear at those stores, check those sales out!

Anyways, the tonneau (RetraxOne XR) should hopefully be on it's way soon as well and i should have a pretty nice setup going for the bed!

Just picked up the last of the components from REI yesterday evening! So all of the Rack Components are in and ready for the truck! Just waiting on the tonneau cover now! Man though, I feel pretty good about what is in some of those Yakima boxes though, as that Overhaul HD box was a heck of a lot heavier than I expected! Feels pretty dang solid! Time will tell, but for what I am looking for, I am pretty happy so far!

Also, placed an order yesterday on a couple of items from Ford's Parts Site (Not the Accessories site) for a Bed Extender and a Bed Mat! Those should hopefully be in in the next couple of week as I would like them for a trip we have coming up to the west side of the state. Wanted the extender for it's usefulness in adding length to the shorter bed when needed, as well as keeping things closer to the tailgate in the closed position! And the bed mat is for keeping things from sliding around too bad and not scratching up things we would put in the bed! That spray in liner is great, but if we put our suitcases in the back, it will scratch the heck out of them since that are hard shell suitcases!

Also grabbed an OBDLink SX and will soon download ForScan to be able to change what I might want to within the truck!

So, I will update as more parts arrive and get installed, but looking forward to it more and more!

Did some more hauling this weekend! Brought home a few wardrobes! Ranger hauled very well again! And man, I just love having a truck around again! Up to 710 miles for me currently!

20190406_154838.jpg

Also, bed mat should be in on Tuesday, no word on the Bed Extender yet, and still waiting on the bed cover! Hopefully a bunch of installations coming soon!

Ranger is back at Bill Brown for some quick service! The fuel door will be adjusted, and they had the parts in to fix the seat belt buckle. So they said at most, one day, if not back by the end of the day today! Hard to part with the truck, even for a few hours, but I would rather get it all fixed now, especially if they have the parts ready to go, than wait on it!

In the mean time, I have a loaner 2019 Escape SE with 89 miles on it! At least they managed to give me an even newer vehicle! Haha! My Ranger still only has 277! It's not bad, and definitely like some more of the information you get in the info cluster compared to the 2017, but the 1.5L Ecoboost that comes in this one definitely feels under powered when accelerating compared to the 2.0L we have at home! But...it'll do for a day! Just very antsy to get the Ranger back again though!

My bed mat came yesterday! It was definitely a lot heavier than I expected, which is great! It is a solid piece!

20190409_174301.jpg

The mat is also about a quarter of an inch thick.

20190409_175510.jpg

It unrolled quickly and easily and just had to line it up in the bed! Simple as that! It has great grip on it and much easier on the knees! Here's the before shot:

And the after shots:

20190409_175140.jpg

Also, the bottom of the mat has a nice pattern to work well with the bed liner to keep the mat from moving! This is what the bottom looks like:

20190409_174433.jpg

And of coarse, the pup wanted to check it out, and it has been approved! Haha!

Also got another package yesterday which was my AvalonKing Armour Shield IX Ceramic Coating. That will go on this weekend! But with the truck being outside, as well as it just looking so good with the Hot Pepper Red, I decided to invest a bit, while there is still minimal prep work needed to get the truck ready for the coating, to keep this truck looking great for a while! I will update on performance of the coating as time goes, but hoping for some good outcomes! Compared to many others, price was pretty reasonable, but obviously, the Ceramic Coatings are still expensive! Recommended by AvalonKing was 2 at a minimum for a truck, and three a guarantee of enough product for complete coverage, so I went for three, as I do have a Jeep I might add this too as well depending on how it works out!

Also got word from @PandaMotorworks that my bed cover will ship by Friday, so I am super excited to get that ASAP!

Mine came in last week, just got to the dealer and picked it up today. I agree it is heavier than I thought and good quality. Looks good too.

Applied a Ceramic Coating to the Ranger this weekend and dang does it look great! I used the Avalon Kings Armor Shield IX Kit and am very happy with how it turned out! Especially for the price! It took me about 5 1/2 hours start to finish and I used about a bottle and a half of product on the truck! I think was able to make just enough space in the garage, and the truck was able to sit for over 24 hours to cure! Avalon Kings recommends 4 hours I believe, and up to 12 to try and keep it dry, but it was a lot of hard work put in, so i wanted to make sure it was completely set!

I started with the pressure washer as the quarter wash to spray loose dirt off and to use their cheap spray soap to remove as much as I could! I then used the Chemical Guys Wipe Out and a bunch of microfiber towels to remove any remaining dirt, wax, sealant, etc. I could then feel how "staticy" and not smooth the paint was.

20190413_182525.jpg

Since it was new, I wasn't worried about buffing as the paint still looks great at only 900 miles! So then applying the coating started! Now, it was a windy day so i opted to install the coating in the garage, however it was still blowing some dust and stuff around, so I had my wife go ahead of each section i was doing and dust it back off with a lint free microfiber towel, and this process worked well! Start to finish applying the coating took about 4 hours, and i applied to the painted surfaces, glass surfaces, and the exposed plastics, and man does it look amazing! I also finished the tires off with some Chemical Guys VRP to complete the awesome look!

I have also had a few chances to test it out already, and it is definitely working as advertised! It is going to be rainy here all week in Michigan, so I will definitely get to see how well it will stand up off the bat! Here's the expected pouring water test as well on the new coating! Working as described so far!
