So I was replacing a failed Diode Dynamics cargo bulb and it occurred to me that the plastic trim around the light assembly, and the trim around the antenna, and the antenna itself was in relatively good condition compared to how faded the window trim can get. What's the deal, are they different plastics?

I'm going to try that first.

Web searches tell me the trim is painted stainless steel, so in my mind the ultimate solution would be to have them stripped and anodized with an inorganic dye. So I'm looking at that as well.
This is what I did, I used Dura-coatings trim coat though. The magic eraser trick worked great!
