I am going to use a 12 volt submersible pump to pump sap from my collection barrels to my transfer tanks. I was going to use my ATV with quick connects wires to do it, but using my ATV limited how much capacity I can carry.
it struck me I could put two 55 gallon barrels in the back of the Ranger and power it from the truck. There are two choices the power point which is good for 12 volts DC 180 watts ( pump uses 125 watts) or using the 110v AC power point with a 12 volt converter.
The pump would be on for less than 3 minutes (maybe less than 2 minutes) to drain each collection barrel.
Which power source would you use to power the pump?
