Tremor side step rails

So I’ve had my truck for about three days now and I’m beginning to hate the hoop-style steps as Ford calls them. They look good but just get in the way and I have blood running down my leg now from them gouging me. I took the step off but there are four square holes in the rock rails. Anybody have any idea if I could cap these or what are your solutions for these steps??

What about expanding foam then grip tape? That was my thought on it to help prevent the tape from sinking into the hole over time.

I agree, lots of bruises and “Ouch!!). I gave up the modifying effort and just ordered Go Rhino DSSs $400 from stage 3 delivered. I just got notice I should receive this Saturday. I will post pictures.
