Are you pressing the (Tow/Haul) Button in the center console?
That has nothing to do with Trailer Connected, that adjusts transmission shift points, mainly on downhill grades to help in braking (slowing the truck) down and less effort on the brakes.

Its in the IPC menus - LH Switch and it adjusts Blind Spot (adapts the BLIS modules) for the extra length of the connected trailer.
Thanks for the info ??

I can’t even get the length to come up. I press the trailer button and the trailer light comes on the dash but it doesn’t prompt me to put in a length .
Same with me. 2019 XLT.

Same with me. 2019 XLT.
Just pushing the tow/haul button on the console will only engage the tow/haul tranny feature. It will not do anything else, and only the little "trailer light" will come on just to let you know the tow/haul feature is in operation.
Now, I don't know how the XL and XLT are set up. but on my Lariat to find the "trailer length" feature, you have to scroll thru the menus accessed by the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel.
With hitting vehicle set up menu and scrolling thru it will recognize that you have a trailer hooked up and it will prompt you to enter a length....several options come up and you punch in the one that closest matches your trailer length. The prompts on a Lariat come up on the left hand info screen.
Again, not being familiar with the XL/XLT I don't know how the info would be presented.
The trailer length functions will only come on when the truck recognizes a trailer hooked up via the 7 pin plug.

It may be in the driver assist menu if i remeber correctly. You should have 3 trailer profiles. A,b,c. I dont have my 22 anymore or i would take pics witht the menu steps. But if memory serves correctly, the trailer profiles are in the driver assist menu. To adjust length and width for the blis
