Just trying to see what others think . I have a 21.5’ camper that weights about 3400 lbs . I have hauled it in tow and sport mod . I have mainly used tow , but I towed in sport for several miles. I seems to be about the same in both modes . Are there any pros or cons to this or should I just stick to tow ?

I think Tow provides better engine braking when pulling a trailer.

Plus in Tow mode I can see what gear it's in.

Tow mode engine braking and /or use button to downshift.

Mine downshifts as I drive ahead and gently apply brakes when needed to stop. Helps if brake controller and trailer brakes are properly adjusted.

No issues 2020 XL and 4500 lb Wolf Pup camper / toyhauler.

Yes you accelerate easy and know it’s there, single axle trailers tow sketchy even with WDH on interstate with big trucks. Fl two lane 60 mph fine.

3400 lbs is nothing, unless you are going up or down Fancy Gap :)

I just like the mapping of tow mode. Seems to apply the torque when i need it at take off and the such. And apply engine braking when needed.
Sport just seems to rev up the engine and go through quarter mile shift runs. Could be all in my head or my buttometer.
For sure anything is better than normal drive mode.

Been up and down Fancy Gap and Saluda Grade in South/North Caroline a number of times.
Just use tow mode, drop the trans to 4th or 5th gear, and scoot right along....towing 7000 lb trailer !!!
No problems, no overheating....

If you are towing then you need to use tow mode. Not hard to figure that one out
