Is the other tab connected
So I have the dashboard all built and it's staying. But again I can't get the obd2 to connect. But I believe I figured that out. My Kiwi Plex requires you to input 1-2-3-4 like a pin to connect. But my head unit doesn't allow to enter a pin after I select that device. It sees it but I don't think it's properly connected without the pin input. So is there obd2 devices that don't have the pin BS?

Maybe this helps, or at least you could try it to see if it works for you.

In the project I've done for the fake exhaust sound, I've experimented a bit with the OBD2 dongles from a programming point of view. I find the connection to be very unstable.
For instance, I can only get a connection to parameters (like RPM, Engine load, VIN) if the engine is running (key in ignition position is not enough). On other cars I can connect to them, they will output zero. Even more, it does not work every time, even if there is no change in code, and I always have a good communication between the OBD2 and the ESP32 or tablet, the issue lies between the ECU and the OBD2 dongle (ELM327) and the returned error is "UNABLE TO CONNECT". Unplugging the ELM327 and plugging it again in the OBD2 port fixes the issue always. I have not been able to further look into it, but I believe there is a need for a delay between the connection is initiated from the moment the engine is started. In my case, I have a 2s delay and seems not enough.

My issue is the head unit is not connecting to the obd2 device, at least it appears that way. I have found how to set the pin for the device. But just doesn't seem to be connected. I do search in torque app for bt devices and not showing.

I understand. If you cannot even see it, never mind the pin, that is a secondary step. Some dongles work without PIN, some not. It seems it also depends on the application. For instance I have three of them, one does not work at all with FORD, but it works with other vehicles. The other two always need a pin when paring with torque (it asks for the pin) but they work without a pin while connecting them with the ESP32 (also Bluetooth).

Pair it via the head unit's connections setting.. just like a phone... then, the torque app should see it... you don't pair via the torque app.

Yes that is what I been trying to do. The head unit itself sees it,and I have the pin set. But when I open torque it doesn't connect or see the device.
