You like jazz?
I currently have been running stock wheels since purchasing, I’ve been using The Advanta ATX 850 AT tire. Its a great cheaper tire that does great in all weather condition. Haven't had any problems with them with the Maine elements.

Hello.

I generally drive on highways until I hit the gravel road, then on gravel roads, and then 4x4 low to get that last 1/4 mile into the lessor used fishing lakes.

As others have stated, don't go with mud tires unless you are offroading 75% of your miles. All Terrain are 90% there, and much better in every other regard. I had 33" TOYO Mud Terrain tires on my former Jeep TJ. Loved them for mud and off-roading, but did not love them on paved roads; they were heavy, costly and wore out quickly.

My 2021 XLT now has TOYO ATIII 235/80 r17 on stock wheels, love them onroad and offroad. They are the "Perfect" tire.
thanks a ton, that really helps

I put BFGoodrich Trail Terrain 265/70r18 on mine and haven't had any issues on dry/wet/snowy roads. The tires are 3 peak rated, and I do go up to Mammoth quite a bit. If you're in LA, you are probably hitting the Big Bear slopes, and would be fine on those windy roads. I should note, I did level my truck and haven't had any issues with rubbing.

Terra grapplers are amazing but mediocre for actual mud. So be warned.

toyo m/t have great highway manners for a mud tire but are a touch heavy.

I have heard good things about the Falken Wildpeaks but have zero experience with them. If I didn’t do so much highway driving they would be my next tire.
I’m running wildpeaks on my truck. They’re a bit heavy but they handle like a champ in the snow. They’re the only AT tire I could find that wouldn’t break the bank that’s also 3 peak mountain snow rate. I love them.

I also forgot that I’ve had Trevlstar Ecopath AT’s in the past. At the time I was on a serious budget and needed tires but couldn’t afford much more than 5 or 600 bucks. I was about to buy some used tires from a buddy until I stumbled across those online.

For the price, I was amazed at how well they handled. They’re nothing fancy and they don’t look “nice” but man, I was impressed… I only got like 35k miles out of them but they got me through a couple years until I was able to actually get some nice tires. I’m not even sure who makes them or if they’re some knockoff Chinese brand but for what I paid, they did the job. Took them to a snow a few times and never had to chain up.
If you’re on a tight budget, I’d highly recommend.
