The Method 701 bead grip wheels I want are only 17x9 "-12" offset or 17x8.5 "0" offset (baja blue).

2023 Ford Ranger. Readylift intrusion beams. Fox coilovers in front (leveled). OME 1.7in lift leafs in rear with fox shocks.

Any concept of what tire size I can get away with without rubbing? I do go off-roading. I'm a diehard MT Baja Boss AT tire fan, currently running those on the stock 18in rims with spacers and they've never let me down.

To figure out tire size, you kind of have to work backwards. When considering diameter and width of the tire, the offset of your wheel is really going to determine what you can do. I chose a narrower tire so I could go a size taller with the wheels I have. On my wife’s ranger, I went with wider but shorter tires because I didn’t want to pull the crash bars on her truck.

Hers is leveled with 265/70/17 tires on 17x8.5 +12 offset wheels. Stock crash bars still installed. For that setup, I wouldn’t go any wider or taller because the tires get close to the crash bars at full lock. If you have high clearance bars, or remove them completely, you could probably go a size taller and wider and still be safe. It took months of researching to finally pull the trigger on the wheels I got for her truck and mine.

12mm is a little less than 1/2” so I wouldn’t get hung up on that… My advice would be to pick the wheels you like, then figure out what tire size will fit. The more offset you have, the more you’re going to limit tire width unless you’re willing to swap the bumper and do some modifications to wheel wells.

It seems nobody sells positive offset wheels anymore for the Ranger. Method used to, but now I don't see any listed.

Also just thinking about Raptor Ranger take-offs. A place here in Texas has them brand new zero miles with factory K03 tires 285/75-17 for $2800. Not my favorites..... but beadlock for half the price of beadlock. They're factory +55 offset so I'd still run my Spidertrax 1.25in spacers for a end offset of + 23.25

Have you tried going through Discount Tire? I ordered my 17x9 Fuel Shok wheels through them. They are a +20 offset.

I might just go with 0 offset. I should have the setup to make it work with 285s. If not, nothing a hammer won't fix. It's 25mm more poking out and 0.5in taller tire. I don't see why that won't fit, got tons of room right now.

A +35 offset rim would actually suck in 12mm compared to my OEM rims with spacers. That would look ugly compared to my current offset which is effectively +23mm

You mentioning the hammer made me laugh. A buddy of mine has a tow truck service in Bonham. We were working on one of his trucks one afternoon and he couldn't get whatever part loose he was trying get off. Then he said, "go get the BFH!"

Ha! It's around 40k miles on the clock. Paint all tiger striped and scratched to the metal in places from branches, dents, etc. What's a little hammering to the frame at this point.

I like your truck! Looking at the picture I understand what you are saying though.
