Rich did you just mask, clean, and spray or was there other prep work that you did? How many coats of paint did you do? I would like to change my chrome trim bits to black and I am trying to figure out the best way that I want to tackle it.

That’s all I did, Mask, clean and spray. Getting ready to do the RANGER letters soon.

Thanks for the info, just ordered some letters for the dash and the front grill. I had already done the tailgate.

For the ford emblems has anyone found or used gel overlays? I have the vinyl, the front emblem I did not clear it and recently took a trip and now have gouges in the sticker. Gel overlays would hold up better I'd believe.

After applying the magnetic and red decals on the front rear oval emblems, I decided to take it a but further and cover the bulk of the camera base in white vinyl leaving the lower level chrome as contrast. I'm quite pleased with the results. You'll have to pardon the rain as I did not have time to request a forecast change

Are these basically a peel and stick? How durable have they been?

They show no signs of any UV damage or peeling. From my past experience, I would expect a lifespan of 6 plus years before signs of determination

I have used TVD vinyl for everything and it has been awesome, grill, tailgate etc.. The one thing I couldn't get right was the dash. I'm good with vinyl as the old man is a dealer and I worked in the detail shop in high school, but I ordered the ranger for the dash in black 2 times and couldnt keep it sticking. The E's and G peeled up each time a few days after. ?‍

So I got my decals today but I’m afraid to put them on. Any advice is greatly appreciated sir

I had the same experience and after destroying the 'E's on my dash TVD stickers I gave up. Bummer, it would have been a nice detail.

I said screw it and went ahead and put them on. Came out pretty good I think.
