I have an Aeroskin II on my Ranger. It’s been on my truck for almost 2 years now and Been happy with it, but I’m thinking about taking it off and swapping it out for the Aeroskin Kightshield Color Matched (Oxford White) hood protector:

I contacted AVS support and asked what the best way to take the old one off is ...got a response that said “I should be able to pull the visor off, and to let Goo Gone sit around the part to loosen the tape a little”.

Sounds like good advice, but I thought I might ask if any of you have tried to remove a hood protector that is stuck on with 3M tape?

One way that's worked for me in removing like the EcoBoost badge which was 3m'd on...heat the tape with a hairdryer and then pull thin fish line underneath it, like flossing. Item will fall off and then you can clean remaining sticky off. If your not going to stick anything back down, make sure you apply a good waxing over the area. Good luck

Before you try pulling it off outright, get a heat gun or use your wife's hairdryer. Don't have your particular hood protector, but I'm guessing it stuck on with 2 sided 3M type tape on the hood . Using the low or medium heat setting start at one side and just hold the heat gun around 6 inches or so and start waving it back and forth at one corner and start to gently pull. As it starts to pull off move the gun down the protector edge and keep pulling away from the hood. Takes a bit of practice but very simple to do...once you start you'll get the hang of it very quickly. You just want to warm the area and tape so it will pull away easily.
Mineral spirits will easily remove any residue.
The fishing line trick is great on flat surfaces, but I think it would be hard to do for your application given the area the tape is applied.
