Hey, folks. Got a crack in my right rear taillight. Can I replace just the housing, or do I need to purchase a whole new assembly? Either way, what's the best place to find a replacement? Trying not to spend $Texas.

It is sold as an assembly only. I'd say the "best place" to find a replacement at a discount would be eBay. There are lots of reputable dismantlers that sell parts on there and I've good luck getting parts for older / other vehicles there.

Here's one for $450.

How big is the crack and what can you live with? If there are no chucks missing and you're looking to save $, maybe you could use some type of clear epoxy to seal it and keep the elements out.

I imagine you could sand and polish to get it to blend well if looks were important.
Nobody will notice at 60 MPH anyway. ?

I just replaced my drivers side tailight. Got it off ebay for $450.00 . keep in mind if you have BLIS you will probably need to either swap out sensors or reprogram the sensor in the replacement light. I swapped them since I couldnt really find good instructions on how to reprogram.

The very best and cheapest place is the Pick N Pull type yards, The problem is finding a yard with a 5G Ranger on the lot, plus these types of yards only hold vehicle in stock for 90 days or so before it is crushed. So if you have this type in your area might be worth a look

Example: Taillight Assy $19.99 from Pricing List - Pick-N-Pull
