I'm planning to get a e-locker diff through a parts yard and if I can't get the harness with it, I'm trying to find the parts number for it. Is it a seperate harness or part of a single harness with a split at some point. Also looking to see if I can install the factory locker button and make changes in Forscan to get it to work. I haven't found anyone else who has done this yet, one guy over on FB ranger group said he tried it but couldn't get it to work using Forscan.

The manuals do not show any specifics on this:
But The Connector # C4359 - P/N WPT-829
Harness # 2B572
If you ref the wiring diagram below
From the ELD to C421 = Harness 2B572 then going forward is changes to Harness # 14405

So at the yard, pull the harness to the next connector, note this is a 6-pin connector.
2 ea pins for the E-Locker
2 ea pins for the LH Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS)
2 ea pins for the RH Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS)

So, to get the complete harness intact you will need to disconnect the Rear ABS Sensor connectors and also cut it free (separate) it from the harness routing (if needed)

So, this will get the harness from the ELD to C421, but UNKNOWN if you have the wiring running forward from that connector, you need to disconnect that connector and see how many wires you have (4 vs 6) plus UNKNOWN if you have the relay integrated into the BJB.

Plus, unknown if you have the wiring for the actual control - PCM to Switch

So, for the wiring, this is a deep dive into a lot of UNKNOWNS and may require some addition of wiring, you may or may not have it already imbedded into the harness.

As far as software changes, I see only 1 noted change and that is on the IPC (As-Built) files to Enable the (E-Locker) however I am sure other modules, more importantly the PCM as possibly being needed flashed (which is going to be a dealer only) option or a Tune Option to program the PCM that it has the E-Locker, the PCM and Forscan do not blend well together as far a making any changes without an authorized cable or software.
I believe (not confirmed) that Forscan has the capability, but it requires a specific cable (FDRS or the Mongoose) cable to allow the data changes. The OBD-EX will NOT allow it, plus you need to have the SPECIFIC hex codes that require changes, which I cannot locate anywhere as they are not open source viewable like all the other modules that give you a line-by-line breakdown of the data lines.

C421 Location
Note the manuals suck for location clarity, so from the LH Wheel Speed Sensor, follow the harness from the sensor connector upstream to the next connection point
From other (T/Shoot) issues this connector may be actually located more to the right as to what the diagram shows here.

Edit: In addition to the PCM and IPC , the ABS Module has a couple of Hex-Lines that may need altered, as well. The Hex-Line breakdown does not specify what they are.
I suggest you use your As-Built data and then use online sales ads for other trucks (w-E-Locker) and then do a side by side compare and note ALL differences, then line by line dive into what the differences are and determine which ones are related to (E-Locker)
I have done this and have some compare notes and the ones that I have would need another specific set of compares (E-Locker vs Standard)
I hope I am making sense - Wiring and Software Control are 2 big hurdles for this upgrade option.

Thanks for all that. I think trying to make it work like factory won't be as easy as I thought. Do you think it would be possible to just use the connectors that plug into the diff and run to a switch with a relay, like say an aftermarket locker ? That is the other option I'm looking into, going with a Yukon unit and getting a new ring and pinion set up.
