Anyone notice stress marks in panels that are stamped. Almost like they are dented or warped.

Some photo's, or some additional data would help. Every body panel on the truck is "stamped".

Thanks for the clarification photo's.

It's a mass produced vehicle that's reasonably priced. These flaws are to be expected.

It's really amazing they come out as nice as they do.

I've worked at many auto plants in my life. Stamping plants, foundries, the Cleveland Engine Plant, and several final assembly plants. They're amazing places. If you have some damaged sheet metal, then show it to your dealer. They'll take care of it.

One thing I'll say is that these "stress marks" as you call them likely aren't going to cause any harm or premature failure. The body panels don't really get loaded that much, if at all, unless you're bumping and popping them in and out daily. So they won't be load cycling or flexing, which would cause imperfections to propagate. Fix it for aesthetic reasons, if you care, but I would say there's not any strength or fatigue issue.

One thing to remember is the hood and fenders are aluminum alloy not steel. Aluminum alloy's behave differently than steel when being formed in a press. The specific process Ford is using be is a hot or cold press could also be introducing these deformations as these also cause different behaviors in the alloy as well.

Curious.... Is it your contention that these have occurred since you bought the truck... or that it was like this when you bought it?

Thanks.

The night I brought mine home The dealer I found what appeared to be a dent on the front passenger side corner of the hood, was kinda disappointed that I hadn't noticed it at the dealer, but shrugged it off.
The other night I was in the garage and noticed that the roof of the truck looked to be "wrinkled" across the back, upon closer inspection it also looked like (much larger) dents, probably 3.

interesting, I just picked up my 23 ranger xlt brand new. As soon as I pulled it in my driveway I noticed the same type of indent as described above
