You are kidding yourself if you think a Ranger is as fast as an Ecoboost Mustang. We are talking about a truck that weighs 1000 lbs more and has less HP than the Ecoboost Mustang.

The Ecoboost Mustangs with the A10 tranny are dipping into the 4 second range 0 to 60 and are very high 12s in the quarter.

I traded a 17 Ecoboost Mustang with a 6 spd manual for the Ranger. While the Ranger is quick it is no where close to the Mustang.

With the Ford built in timer, my 2017 GT (Premium with auto, no performance package) regularly was good for 5.1 - 5.2 second 0 to 60. My times were pretty consistent with what people were reporting on Mustang6G. My GT had no problem with stock Ecoboost Mustangs. A friend of mine had the Roush chip, cold air intake, etc installed on his Ecoboost Mustang. He would run with my GT until @ 60 and then start fading. For him, the fun lasted to @ 100k miles when he blew the motor.

Regarding the Ecoboost Mustangs with the A10, they are not close to an upper 4 or low 5 second 0 to 60. If you don't believe me, go take one for a test drive. You will be very disappointed. The stock tune on the new 2021 that we drove was terrible. Maybe there was something wrong with it, but it had noticeable turbo lag and was not impressive. We also test drove a used 2020 Ecoboost Mustang and that was better than the 2021 but I think the Ranger would give it a run for the money.

Now the GT with the A10 was very impressive.

If the best you could do was 5.1 to 5.2 something was wrong. My buddies 15 with a manual and 3.55 gears (the worst possible combo for 0 to 60 due to the need for a second to third shift) would do 4.8. My 17 Ecoboost with a manual and 3.55 gears would do 5.3 with the FP tune. Folks with the same tune were getting 4.8s or 4.9s. When they released the A10 in 18 they also revised the tune and increased the peak torque to 350 ft-lbs and the power no longer tanked after 5500 rpm. Those two changes made a huge change in the stock Ecoboost performance and yes a stock A10 Ecoboost Mustang can dip into the 4s. A GT with the A10 is a mid 4s car.

Not sure what was wrong with the Ecoboost Mustangs you drove, probably full of 87 octane. You can't dismiss the 1000 lbs of extra bulk the Ranger is carrying compared to the Ecoboost Mustang. The old hot rodders rule of thumb is it takes 10HP to offset a 100lb weight disadvantage. Using that the Ranger would need an extra 100 HP to be equal to the Ecoboost Mustang. Having had/have both the Ranger has no chance against the Ecoboost Mustang.

Andy just so you know the story is different over at Tacoma World, seems this 30 yearish guy stomped the crap out of some old guy in his grandpa truck. Not my words. LOL

Honestly I don't see the v6 keeping up with the twin snails. good win.

I’m just trying to figure out why he wanted to mess with a 65 year old juvenile delinquent…
My Ranger had only been out of the break-in period for a couple of months and I had never floored it before. I had just entered a 2-lane onramp for the interstate that has a bit of an uphill grade before merging on to the highway. (People not familiar with this ramp don't appreciate the grade or the fact that they'll soon be merging with 65 mph traffic, so they often find themselves at the top going less than 50, which is unpleasant for the traffic at speed) Not far behind me was a kid in a rice rocket who thought he was going to pass me before the merge. I thought, "Um, no" and floored it for the first time. I felt my back push into the seat and I was a quarter mile ahead of the guy in seconds. Never got to enjoy the look on his face. I'm pretty sure he didn't expect to get smoked by a mere stock pickup truck.

Over there, the Ranger blew its engine and had to coast to the curb trailing smoke and oil.

I mean, you can't drive on the highways because they are 100% littered with failed EB Fords.
