I own a 2020 Ford ranger XLT and have been hearing a slight grind or screeching type noise when switching between lower gears especially from first to second. The car will rev up and right at the top of the RPMs before switching is when the sound occurs. My mind goes directly to transmission but has anybody else experience this? Thoughts. ? Truck has under 5000 MI

Actually yes n that's when it started.. I went to sport n didn't realize that after you manually shift u must turn it off before it will shift on its own . So what's this mean ?

Hi Adam,

To me it means a dealer visit to address the issue, and I agree, sounds transmission related.

Good Luck!
