I wish these came with memory seats. It does take a while to get that perfect position.

Then your wife takes it out once and you're back to this.

And I finally got my seat position dialed in.
Back in the day, you grabbed the metal bar under the seat to move the seat forward or backwards. Once you found the position that suited you, you were good to go. Now, with all the options for adjusting the seat, its hard to find the sweet spot.

Back In the day...you raised or lowered the 2×4 behind the seat that braced the plywood holding thf back of the seat in the right position. Andbe careful not to hit a bump too fast, for fear of jarring that 2 by loose.
Now that's what I'm talkin about. Nice still seeing plenty of older 80's-90's farm trucks out in my part of rural america

Lol! I confess I don't hand wash my vehicles, haven't in years, just to lazy so I go to the car wash.
When one of the carwash workers gets in the driver's seat to pull the truck out of the wash, I'm always left to re adjust the seat, cursing....
Most-not all those guys are vertically-challenged
I know, I should be washing my own

I have to admit, one of the features on my Jeep that I really like is the memory seats, because it's not just the seats.

I have two keys and fobs, a black one and a gray one.

The black key/fob is tied to memory 1 and the gray key/fob is tied to memory 2.

If I unlock with the black fob, the seat, mirrors, and the pedals all go to my presets. If my wife unlocks it with the gray fob they go to her presets.

When I had the factory radio installed it also remembered the favorite radio stations.

None of this would matter with the Ranger though as even though I've had it over 2 years she has never driven it.

I'm still trying to figure out the 8 ways it's adjustable. So far, I think I found 6 of them.
Front part of seat Up-Down = 2

Rear part of seat Up-Down = 2

Overall seat Up-Down = 2

Lumbar Firm-Soft = 2

Recalling the early S197 Mustangs with power seats -fuses blew repeatedly-a common malady. Was told it was primarily 'switches are susceptible to dirt contamination'. Common repair: Replace the 30a fuse with a 30a circuit breaker (underhood box). Can only image how many seats, motors, switches, etc. were replaced unnecessarily.

Lol early 90's when I was on the Job, the good 'ol plastic milk crate behind the front passenger seat, just to keep the back upright. They always broke
