Running trailer power with ignition off

Is there a way to run the trailer power without the ignition turned on? I ordered some 12V LED lights to stick inside my enclosed trailer for loading and unloading in the dark. Do I need to have the lights on and the ignition on if I branch off an existing interior lamp?

Install a small battery inside the trailer with a small solar panel mounted on the roof. Lights will work anytime, including when the trailer is disconnected.
