My dad was a Lieutenant in the Air Force and flew a B25 in the Pacific theater. He wouldn’t talk about the war or anything he did other than being a pilot and flying 32 sorties. Never a word. He passed away last year at 94. Getting a military honors funeral last year wasn’t an easy task. Miss him a lot.
Ironic...my dad was a Sgt. in the Army Air Corp also...served as a flight eng. on B-17's in Europe. Did his 25 missions, was extended another dozen, than shipped stateside to train.
He didn't talk about it until I joined the Navy in 1967...he than started to tell us some of what he endured.

I was very lucky to have a father who served in WW2 landed in Normandy and was wounded but able to live a full life. He didn't say much about his experience except to tell me he would not watch: Saving Private Ryan, because he would get too emotional. He lived to be 92 and out lived 2 wives. Please remember all those who gave their lives and the fellow service members who knew them. ??
