Recommendations for roof rack cross bars for RCI bed rack?

I'm going to be attaching a 84" cargo tray to my roof rack when it comes in. So now I'm trying to figure out the best way I can go about getting said tray to interface with my bed rack. First and foremost I got the cab height version of RCI's rack, so clearance shouldn't be an issue, or at minimum a little handy work if I need a few more inches of clearance to get the end of the tray over the cab.

Do I need to look at some sort of universal roof rack cross beams to work with? Does any company out there make something adapter specific?

I'm guessing I'm going to have to go old school and throw some hole punched 2" square steel tubing to the mix.

There is a poster who has a rack on his roof with cross bars. Mounted with Ubolts. Not sure who.
