my xlt has yet again surprised me on the positive side ! I have no idea what 21 bags of wet much ways (maybe 45 pounds a bag?) I was laughing on way home as i actually thought my truck rode better !! like the truck more and more everyday!!

These things do ride great with weight on them...it is what they are made for; to haul stuff, to tow, etc...the rest is gravy

a 2 cubic foot bag dry weight 20lbs.
they say a wet can can weigh up to 40lbs.
that means its absorbed 20lbs of water and at 8bs per gallon or so, thats about 2 and a half gallons, which would be really really wet.

so you had anywhere from 450 to 850lbs.. which is average weight for a mother in law.

Mother in-law lives in fla thank the lord!!

I did 33 bags on Monday. Definitely noticed the weight both driving and visually. The bags were also pretty damp.
The weight caused the rear to lower about 2 inches and the front to raise about 1/2 inch.....
I guessed each bag at 30lbs so just about 1,000lbs give or take.

I did 30 bags of topsoil the other day. Really pleased with how it hauled it.

about a month ago I hauled 25 bags of mulch in the bed and 10 more on the back seat.
Probably could have gotten more in the bed, but with the Embark LS/retrax bed cover, well that wasn't
the problem - the guys, "kids", at Lowes loading the truck did not seem to have much experience with proper
mulch bag organization skills. My guess is that they were just used to throwing bags into the back of an 8 foot bed.

No problem with that load.

I just hauled 1,160 lbs of firewood. Truck with myself and my kid, 1/2 tank of gas came in at 4,840. Loaded up it weighed 6,000 lbs. The place is at the bottom of a 1.5 mile mountain. I pulled 7th gear @ 58 mph all the way to the top about 1/2 throttle. By comparison my dad's old 84' F-150 wouldn't hold 55 mph up the hill in 4th gear with a run on it....

yup weight on the back makes them ride nicer. I love my trucks ride with my 4 wheeler or 2 dirtbikes on back. I would really like some high quality adjustable remote reservoir shocks so i could have that ride all the time though with weight or without
