Below is a set of general rules and guidelines that we expect all members to follow. As there is no possible way for Administrators or Moderators to read every single post, we rely on members to help enforce these rules by using the REPORT POST function (icon located in the bottom left corner of every post).

The RANGER5G forum Administrators and Moderators are now using the practices listed below with respect to the forum rules. Breaks of each of these require moderator action, whether someone reports a post or it is seen by a moderator during a daily review.

1. Private Forum — This is NOT an open public opinion forum. Topics and media files of a political, religious, pornographic, sexually explicit, or other "NSFW" nature are not permitted. This prohibition applies equally to user titles, signatures, avatars, and private messages. Similarly, as a Ford Ranger enthusiast forum we will not tolerate any activity on the forums used to bash the vehicle for which this forum was created.

RESPONSE: Deletion of item, with a PM sent to the poster, warning that if a similar post is repeated, their account will be suspended, removed or all of their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

2. Flaming / Bashing / Bickering / Trolling / Baiting — "Flaming" of members, including personal attacks and insults towards another member, petty bickering or bashing of another member and/or their vehicle preferences for any reason (because of engine/vehicle choice, mods, stock vs. non stock, personal reasons, etc), trolling or baiting arguments is NOT acceptable behavior on THIS site. This includes overt, repeated or excessive bashing of another vehicle brand, make or model. Members are advised to use the IGNORE function if you have a personality conflict with another member.

RESPONSE: Post a warning message on thread, reminding the poster that "flaming and personal attacks are not acceptable". Edit out the offending remarks. If it happens a second time, the individual members will receive an infraction warning via PM. If the poster continues to do this, the account will be suspended for 14 days and their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

3. Inter Model Bashing — The forum will not tolerate any bashing of another member's choice of vehicle, options/equipment, modifications, stock vs. non stock etc. Respect for all models and model years is expected of all members. Posting in a thread or section related to a specific trim/model/model year vehicle for the sole purpose of bashing the vehicle will not be tolerated on the forums.

RESPONSE: Deletion of the item and PM sent to the poster, warning that if the behavior continues their account will be suspended, removed or all of their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

4. General Bashing and Forum Staff — Any poster that attempts to use the forum to "bash" or "slam" the Ford Ranger, Ford Motor Company, the owners and administrators of this site, the moderators or other staff members, will have their accounts deleted, and their posts removed. If you have an issue with moderator action, send a PM to the administrator or moderator. The discussion forums are not the place to complain about moderator actions, infractions and account suspensions.

RESPONSE: Deletion of item with immediate account suspension.

5. "Thread Crapping" — Is NOT acceptable on this forum. This includes ruining another member's thread simply because you disagree or do not care about the topic of the thread. Posting "who cares" or "dumb idea" adds nothing positive to the forum, leads to petty bickering and derails threads.

RESPONSE: Deletion of item, with a PM sent to the poster, warning that if a similar post is repeated, their account will be suspended, removed or all of their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

6. Stalking — Do not stalk another member on the forum by "following" their posts only to bicker and argue with that member. If you have had previous disagreements with another user, avoid them on the forums or place them on your IGNORE list in your User Control Panel.

RESPONSE: Deletion of the item and PM sent to the poster, warning that if the behavior continues their account will be suspended, removed or all of their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

7. Search — Conduct a forum search before posting basic questions or topics that have likely been discussed already. It may reveal the answer you are seeking or provide an existing thread for you to continue the discussion. New members are expected to use the search function and consult the sticky threads which will in many cases answer basic questions. At the same time, veteran members should refrain from bashing new members simply because they may have overlooked it. Please be helpful whenever possible. Not everyone is a forum veteran and some friendly answers or suggestions can go a long way to helping a new member out.

RESPONSE: Repeated disregard for this rule will lead to a PM sent to the poster, warning that if it continues, their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

8. Post in the Proper Forum — The forum is divided into separate subforums to help keep the discussions organized and on-topic. This also makes for more effective searches in the future. Members are expected to post in the proper forum at the outset — the moderators should be seen as a last resort to help moves threads posted in the wrong section. Members who constantly post in the wrong forum will receive a friendly reminder to do so, followed by disciplinary action if the rules are repeatedly ignored.

RESPONSE: Repeated disregard for this rule will lead to a PM sent to the poster, warning that if it continues, their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

9. Commercial/Advertising — Only authorized forum sponsors may make posts or threads for commercial use (sales, group buys, soliciting, advertising, marketing, promoting, research and development, etc). All AUTHORIZED commercial posts (i.e. links to websites, order pages, pricing info, availability, sales, etc.) should be made in the sponsors classifieds forums (or dedicated sponsor subforums) only. This is to keep the technical sections strictly technical and to maintain fairness among all forum sponsors. Threads/posts about your company's products/services can still be posted in the technical sections, but they should not contain any commercial information. It should focus on research, development and other technical aspects of your products and services. For announcement of commercial information, simply link to your classifieds threads from your technical thread.

RESPONSE: Repeated disregard for this rule will lead to a PM sent to the poster, warning that if it continues, their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

10. Vendors, Sponsorship and Conflict— Only authorized vendors who have signed-up for sponsorship are allowed to participate on the forums. Authorized sponsors should only discuss their own company, products and services, and not that of any other vendor. This rule is in place to avoid disputes as well as conflicts of interest. If you have a dispute with another company it should be done in private.

RESPONSE: Repeated disregard for this rule will lead to a PM sent to the poster, warning that if it continues, their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

11. Member Classifieds — For members selling products or services on the site, the information and transactions must take place on Ranger5G and not link to a third party site (e.g. eBay, Craigslist, etc) and follow the sticky rules before posting.

RESPONSE: Deletion of any non-compliant threads, and PM to the poster notifying them of the reason their thread did not comply.

12. Spam —Spam of any kind will not be allowed. This includes repeated links to a website, commercial solicitation outside of the appropriate subforums, and repeat duplicate posts in multiple threads.

RESPONSE: Deletion of item with immediate account suspension.

13. Profanity — While most profanity is not strictly censored on the forum, we expect members to behave in a mature and respectful manner. Profanity in signatures and avatars is not allowed and neither is profanity used to insult or attack other members. We expect members to not abuse this privilege. The admins and moderators may remove excessive profanity if it is deemed to significantly and negatively impact the enjoyability of the forum.

RESPONSE: Repeated disregard for this rule will lead to a PM sent to the poster, warning that if it continues, their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

14. Prohibited Topics — Street racing, violent acts, drug use, or any other illegal activities may not be discussed on the forum.

RESPONSE: Deletion of item, with a PM sent to the poster, warning that if a similar post is repeated, their account will be suspended, removed or all of their posts will require the review and approval of the Moderators before posting.

15. One Account Per User — Each person is allowed to have only one single account on the site.

RESPONSE: Immediate deletion of all accounts.

16. Warnings / Infractions — The Administrators and Moderators will generally use the below infraction and account suspension schedule. They may at their discretion implement a permanent ban or suspension on any account without notice if deemed necessary.

First infractions will result in an official warning via PM.

Second infractions will result in a 14 day suspension.

Third infraction will result in a 30 day suspension.

Fourth infraction will result in a permanent ban.
