New here. Been lurking the threads a bit. I have a HAM radio that I plan to mount on the dash tray using one of these https://builtrightind.com/products/builtright-industries-dash-mount-2019-ford-ranger.

I plan on cutting holes in the back of the dash tray for the power wires and antenna coax. My question is how and where to run these? I plan on going through the dash to the 12V receptacle for the power and running the coax through the back cab vents to a magnet antenna on the roof. My main concern is how to get these through the dash as I want to hide them from being seen and/or in the way.

Thanks

There is no exact way. I figured it out as I went after I ran my coax thru the DS lower rear grommet.

basically, there’s no wrong way as long as you’re pleased with the outcome

I have my GMRS remote faceplate mounted to the Builtright dash mount. The main radio body is mounted in the glovebox with power and coax run through the passenger side grommet.

Once I removed the dash tray for install, there was a pretty clear opening in the dash going from the tray area down to the glovebox which allowed me to run the faceplate cable. Not sure if that helps or not.

Pull the tray out and run them behind the radio/infotainment area for a cleaner look. I'm mounting mine tomorrow in the same place. I'll follow up with some pictures.

Trying this soon on my truck, do you by chance have a picture of how you mounted the main radio body in the glovebox?

I removed the glove box and used the mounting bracket as a template on the backside. Drilled mounting holes and secured the bracket inside. I accounted for enough space to plug in the programming cable.
