I removed the glove box and used the mounting bracket as a template on the backside. Drilled mounting holes and secured the bracket inside. I accounted for enough space to plug in the programming cable.
I have my GMRS remote faceplate mounted to the Builtright dash mount. The main radio body is mounted in the glovebox with power and coax run through the passenger side grommet.
Once I removed the dash tray for install, there was a pretty clear opening in the dash going from the tray area down...
I didn’t go with the Putco. I contacted BuiltRight and they said that the front cab side panel for Fords are on the list for 2022. They just released one for the Silverado last month so hopefully in the next few months.
