I'm so impressed with how well you folks maintain your vehicles & the pride you take in them. For me, a car or truck was just a means for getting from point A to point B. Never even thought about taking a picture of it. :) BUT, that all changed when I got my Ranger:turkey:(except for the waxing & polishing stuff:giggle:).
Back on topic: in a period of about 5 years, we bought our son 3 different Rangers. We have no pictures. One he wrecked, one was destroyed in a tornado, & the other one he sold to a friend. My favorite was the Ranger Edge. I had wanted one for myself when they stopped producing them. Then began the wait for them to bring the Ranger back to the U.S. That's why I love my truck so much.

The first picture is a repost from the Intoduction thread.

'86 XL, I think? Edit: No, it was a S.

Purchased in 1988. 2.0 liter/5 speed. Being a teenager back then, I pushed it pretty hard,

As the years went on, I would add a nicer cloth bench seat, XLT aluminum wheels (not in these pictures) and Dad would repaint it 1966 Mustang SignalFlare Red. We didn't half-ass it, we pulled the bed off and painted it everywhere, lol.

I made the truck last 13 years, put around 200,00 miles on it and then I gave it to Dad. He drove it for a while and put about 25,000 more miles on it.

It was...very red.

No pics but had a 1987 Ranger S. Was my first New vehicle purchase. Think I paid $7500’ish for it. Regular cab, 2.0, 5spd, that’s it! No a/c, no power, no radio, no cloth, no carpet! Bright Red!! Was a great little truck!

My only other ranger was this 2003 Edge 3.0l 5 speed that I was able to fit 39.5x15.50r15 super swamped trxus on. I loved this truck but not long after putting these tires on I traded it on foolishly on a brand new truck back in 2008.

'02 XLT with a V8 conversion. With 275k miles total, 120 on the V8 it was getting tired. Add in 18 years of sun and with the OEM bi-fold tonneau wearing out, was simply not worth rebuilding the suspension, engine, paint and adding a DiamondBack.

Miss my old but it was time. The buyer gave me more than I was asking for it!!

Stuffing the 5.0 into the Ranger engine bay was "fun", getting all the wiring and controls right was even more "fun"

Like the '02, the '19 is a working truck. Roof rack gets used a lot, the bi-fold tonneau cover secures a ton of tools of the trade and HVACR "stuff".

If only Ford had been as interested in selling Rangers with something besides squirrels under the hood as they were in having "Unobtainium Rangers" hitting the track while wearing Ford's colors!!!!

I've posted this elsewhere, but here's mine. 2003 XL RWD that I bought brand new as my first car in high school, lovingly nicknamed the "Gutless Wonder." The little 2.3 L 4-cyl didn't produce a whole lot of power, but it got me pretty much everywhere I needed to go over the 16.5 years I owned it. It was as basic as they came at the time. No cruise control. Air conditioning effectiveness was determined by how fast you were going with the windows rolled down (by hand crank). Manual door locks. AM/FM radio but no CD or even cassette deck. Never had any really major problems with it, though by the end there was getting to be quite a few minor parts that were failing (nothing you wouldn't expect from a vehicle its age). I was sad to let it go, but it was time. I needed more seats to fit my kids, and I wanted to not worry about what part was going to fail next at an inopportune time. So just like with my first vehicle, my second (excluding my wife's vehicles) is a Ford Ranger with a 2.3 L 4-cyl, but this one sure packs a whole lot more power.

I leased a 1999 Ranger in '99, found out it was too small for me, so in 2001 I went to the dealer and he cancelled the lease and I bought a 2001 F-150. Then got a 2005 F-150 in '05. This year I was in the market for a new truck and a friend suggested I check out the "new" Ranger -- Did so, and I now own a 2020 Ranger Supercrew!! Wonderful truck -- color me ecstatic !!

Can't find a picture of my '99, but this is what it looked like (Picture found on the 'web)..

I bought the Ranger in San Diego without air conditioning. I moved to Las Vegas and still have this vehicle without air conditioning. So I had to go back to San Diego to sell the truck and I ended up buying a Tacoma because my Ranger suffered from pre-ignition engine knock in the desert. Ford couldn't help with that. I sold the truck and bought a Tacoma. In fact, I had for Tacoma's last one being the 2016. I decided to give the new ranger try so far so good
