Hello,

I own a 2019 Ranger 4x4 extended cab. The passenger door proximity sensor has failed. Unable to open the said door with either key in pocket. Still works fine on the driver's side door or when pressing the 'open' button on the fob. I have an extended Ford premium warranty on the vehicle. Parts and labor are covered, but there is a $100 deductible.

Trying to avoid the deductible. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it an easy fix?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks Idaho,

I stumbled across the threads you posted right after I submitted this post. I disconnected the battery for a minute or so and all is well. Like you and the threads mentioned my battery may be on the way out. It is the original battery from 2019. Also, I may be drawing current when the vehicle is off due to my dash cam and Bluetooth connection with a device I bought that plugs into the usb/data port and connects to my phone while in my pocket. The device eliminates the need to plug in a data/power cable directly from the phone into the vehicle's data/power USB port.

Thanks Again,

Tom

Might be able to extend the battery life with a charger and desulfator. Mine (2019) is pretty healthy by doing that. I use the Noco 5 Genius.
