Does anyone know what the part number for the inner fender shield you take off to access the filter? I got an oil change earlier by a ford quick lane and just realized they didn't put it back on. Based on past experience, it'll be easier for me to buy it online and install it myself.

Well, I went.. Their response "we don't take them all the way off we just pull them back enough to get the oil filter out so I'm not sure how It's missing"
Well, if the liner was there before you took it in for the oil change and the liner was not there after the oil change....

My guess is they tried to pull it back instead of taking the correct route of removing the clips and broke it ?‍♂ but that was the reason in my original post that I said It'd be easier for me to find out the part number and order it myself.. I've had my fair share of bad experiences at my particular Ford dealership

I do know for a fact that it was still there before the oil change.. On our trucks the wheel wells are exposed quite a bit so it didn't take me more than a few hours to notice it missing

Looked up the part for a '21 XLT Crew Cab 4wd.

It is called ''Fender liner extension. GUARD-FRONT-SPLASH.Rear Shield. Left'' P/N KB3Z-1610-A @ around $9 so not too bad. But you also need ~eight screw head push pins called "Rivit-Liner-Shield Clip" P/N W715694S300 @ around $5 each or $40 for those.

So looks like the ''Oil Change'' is going to cost you an additional $50 plus shipping and taxes.

If it were me I'd be going back to the dealer and telling them you'd like the parts installed; you want it the same as when you brought it into them for the oil change. You should be ''made whole''. They have already admitted to partially removing the part. If they did not re-install it could driving the vehicle result in ''complete removal'' of the part? Perhaps.

I got tired of removing those clips and breaking them so someone on this forum gave me the idea to replace the plastic screws with magnets so now all I do is give it a quick pull and it comes out, and goes back in just as easy. I used RTV sealant to attach the magnets. This won't help with your dealer's carelessness, but thought I'd share anyway. Some people said they took the flap off and just leave them off...

Well guys 2 parts from the dealer later I still haven't received the right part, even after I gave them the correct part number for the 2nd attempt. I'm probably just going to order the part myself.. However in the meantime, do you guys think there is there any major harm with not having it?

Also, any suggestions for some material I could put up while I wait on the part.. I'm going on a 7 hour one way trip Monday so I'm a little nervous for potential harm to oil filter and parts around it

So, I know this is a late response, however this is what I came up with. Here's the part number for what you need, I bought two of them when I ordered my 21 Lariat with the anticipation that I would be needing them down the road after they became old, brittle and torn.

Also, attached are the replacement pegs I went with instead of the Philips "one time use" OEM fasteners. I discarded the OEM's and just plug these in without pushing in the pin all the way, that way I can just pull them out each time.
