I have a 2020 Ranger with less than 3000 miles on it, so far. I’ve been hand washing it just about every week since I got it in late December (there is a lot of pollen in Central Florida right now.) I just noticed this paint defect yesterday. It is like the paint just split. It is very low on the front edge of the left side passenger door.

I’ve also noticed two places on the hood that have something in the paint, under the clear coat. I was willing to let them go, but this door split is like nothing I’ve seen on a car/truck before. Pretty sure I can see metal and it is starting to peel away.

Anybody have any similar paint issues?

Thx.

Looks like something stressed the door edge. See what a paint shop might be able to do.

UPDATE:
Well, it has been several weeks and visits to different Ford dealers and getting my sales guy, servide and body shop people involved...
Ford looked a photos that were sent and said they would not pay for the repair because damage was due to an impact.
Paint guy looked at it and said it doesn't look like any impact he's ever seen.
Sales guy said he's sorry but if Ford denied it, that's it. They are the end-all decision maker. Then after a little bit he suggested calling Ford Customer Care. Which I was gonna do anyway.
In the span of one day, the Ford rep called me, then called the body shop guy, then called me back and said Ford would take care of everything. No charge to me.
The bottom line - be the squeaky wheel. Don't accept NO for an answer.

Now I just hope the body shop does a quality repair and doesn't make the paint look bad somehow.

Certainly looks like a defect if there was no 'impact' to the door. Hope it all works out for you.
