Thanks for the heads-up...
Here in Hawaii, we have a superstition that if an item should believed to be "possessed" that ti leaves be tied to it, or be placed nearby to exorcise the demon within.
That would explain why my Grandmother would gather several leaves and shake them vigorously at me as a kid...
