Curious if any others around here (San Jose area) have found a good Ford dealer service department? I've called a couple and emailed a couple others about just basic service/maintenance and got 0 replies. No call back, no response from emails via their websites. Weird isn't it? Have then all given up and are only sales dealerships how? Hope someone might have a suggestion, otherwise just keep going elsewhere I guess.

Jeff,

I'm quite a distance from you, but I take mine to Folsom Lake Ford. I have to drive past two other Ford dealers on the way.

They have never tried to upsell me. I had my first oil change at Grass Valley Ford and they gave me a list of what they do for my next service and it was going to be $500. It was a lot of nonsense that didn't need to be done. I ran from them as quick as I could.

I had my TBC Trailer Brake Controller installed at Geweke Ford and they were just full of mis truths. They told me it was easy. No problem. Then I showed up and they were clueless fortunately I brought all the tools and documentation necessary to get it done.

From my experience I would recommend a dealer where:

1) The owner of the dealership is there everyday.
2) A large enough dealer that they have the maintenance depth and knowledge for any problems.
3) I also recommend you buy your vehicle from the dealer you plan on having service it.
4) I always buy the Ford Extended Warranty, especially on a new model year.

When they bring up my vehicle in their system it has all the vehicle information plus my salesman and when I bought it. I feel like it makes a difference, almost like I'm part of their family.

It seems like a lot of the dealers use similar software for their Ford Storefront, some features work, some features don't. You are always better off talking to a person to schedule an appointment or get something done.

Hope this helps,
John
