Eibach 1” rear blocks

1” bora wheel spacers

Crash bars adjusted full forward, no cutting so far.

In lays for the tailgate was the first quick upgrade.

The RB20 install hit a snag. One of the supports wasn’t really close to 90 degree. They were quick to resolve the issue but I drove around with one step on for about a week.

This was pre linex on the boards.

Next upgrade was the line-x shop. Had the bed sprayed with premium and the boards sprayed as well. They removed the GoRhino silver tags on the boards and it looks much better.

First tow with the truck. Boat weighs about 4000 pounds. Towed great I just need to get a drop hitch to level the trailer out.

The Eibach Upgrade was next.

Full 3” in the front and 1” in the back. After we did the fronts we dropped the truck back down to take a look at it. It was nearly perfectly level but I do tow occasionally so we put the 1” in the back.

There was a few sketchy moments with the spring compressor. The new spring is way longer than stock! We also forgot to loosen the sway bar and the control arms popped off and had to be reset. The little spring clips set us back an hour. Otherwise it took about 3 hours including the rear 1” blocks.

The eibach ride is greatly improved. It lost the bounce in the rear end and the truck feels “planted”.

3/1 with stock wheels. Truck looks a little goofy.

We also installed the 1” bora spacers to get ready for the new tires.

Alignment post eibach came back fine.

I adjusted the front crash bars full forward to get ready for the tires. There was a good amount of play in them. 15mm socket and push them forward. The backs were already full aft. I also removed the plastic covers on them. Gives another 1/4” or so.

I was having a hard time deciding if I was going to keep the stock sport wheels or get some new ones. Decided to at least keep the 17” size wheel even if I changed later, so I ordered the tires from @Discount Tire . They priced matched(bonus no taxes because of the internet) and they showed up to my door 2 days later. Went with the nitto ridge grappler 285/70R17 116Q. They are way lighter than the LT rates tires and I drive the interstate a lot so I’m hoping that helps with gas mileage over the LT versions.

The nitto have 2 different sidewalls you can choose from and I was trying to decide between them.

Ultimately choose the less dressed up sidewall. I like the look of the distinct blocks this way. Guys at the local tires shop put them on today.

Really happy I chose to stay with the sport wheels for now. They look better in person than all the pictures I have looked at on here. Still may swap them out later but for now it’s fine.

Clearance on the front and back bars. I have a video of moving the wheels full lock in both directions but I can’t post it here. Everything clears on a level surface. I still need to make sure entering and exiting inclines and declines though.

The pictures make it look closer than it really is. There seems to be plenty of room.

Ride is much better. It got rid of the bounce in the rear. The truck feels planted. That bounce just made the truck feel out of control some times.

Those larger tires sure make those wheels look aftermarket. Looking good!

Look's great!! Thanks for taking the time to share! A lot of us want to do these mods or similar mods (at some point) and it's nice to get a good look before dishing out the cash.:like:

My first full tank with the lift and level came in at 18.4 mpg hand calculated. I did about 50/50 city highway, I did tow my boat once on this tank for about 6 miles so that ate up about 3/4-1 gallon there as most of that drive is stop and go.

so average that back out and it comes to 19.1mpg. I’m fine with that. I’m still only at 2,000 miles so it will probably get better as well.

Thank you for all your posts here. Really helpful. I am running a 1.25" spacer but same size lift (3") and bought nitto ridge grapplers in the same size but got the LT C load not the E load (6ply vs 10ply) the LT Ridge Grapplera have a deeper tread depth so I figured it'd hold up a little longer, and to some of the offroad parks here. I am concerned about gas mileage after they get put on this week.

Alignment tomorrow. Thank you for posting the alignment job specs. I'll compare to what I get tomorrow.

Anyways, love all the mods. Keep it up.

Flapilot, Now that you've had the lift and 285's for almost 2 years now, please tell us what you think of your set up. Pro's, Con's. Anything you would have done different? Any trouble from the 3" lift? Any reason to stick to 2"? What about 285's vs 265's? I really love the look of your truck and am trying to hold off until the 36k warranty is over before making my own mods. I just don't know if I can wait. I'd really appreciate learning from your experience.

No issue but I only have 20k miles. Tires are still in great shape.

No issues with the lift have arisen either.

I still love the truck.
