For the life of me I can't figure out the appeal of this, especially for the price. So its a place to sit? uncomfortable. A cutting board? Its a dirty tailgate that gets stepped on. Not really something I want to cut food on. It's a table? Hope your truck is level.

The fascination with everything being connected to the truck kinda baffles me honestly. Can someone give me some pro's to this because all I can see are negatives.
Dude!

Did you even look at it?

It's main purpose is quite obvious to me.

It's a beverage holder.

A $300 beverage holder.

Our '02 Tacoma had those beverage holders built into the factory tailgate liner.

Oh wait... this isn't the "Why Tacoma Owners Love There Trucks" thread is it?

Every time we have a sandwich and a beverage, sitting on the tailgate of our 2019 Ranger, I look for those beverage divots. It's a 17 year old habit.

Is it a big deal?
Nope?

Would it have been mind numbingly easy for Ford to design, then stamp, some circular divots into the tailgate inner panel?

Yes

Quick question for those of you with the Mountain Hatch… dropping off the Ranger next week to get the bed Line-X’d. Is there any reason to spray the tailgate if I’m going to install a Mountain Hatch?

No. The bolts they provide are spec’d for non-lined.

With all the camping I’ve been doing this would be a great addition to the truck. And I saw them in person at the Moore Expo and quality wise it’s well made. Like others have said the price is the biggest issue.

Plywood, and a router and some finishing materials(paint, epoxy, whatever) and make your own for like 30-100 bucks depending on cost of router..

or it is the "made in usa" stamp that gets everyones rocks off? But hey justify the absurd cost if you will.

Go add 20 pounds of wood to your tailgate if that’s what gets your rocks off. Every single accessory can be called absurd by someone else, that’s not the point. It serves a purpose to those that decide to buy one. Do what you want to your truck, it’s not a competition.

I have a few of thes in our motor home...very easy to lug em over to the Ranger. At $7 bucks per, can even justify getting new ones for the Ranger.
