I noticed a spot on my driveway a while back and thought at first it might be from the old truck or car I used to have since it didn't look new. Today out of curiosity I looked under the right rear side of the Ranger and lo and Behold I have a shock leaking. I've been driving since 1971 and never had a shock leak on any vehicle I have owned. I thought it curious on a vehicle with barely 6000 miles that a shock would leak. No big deal but it's odd to me. Truck goes in for service on Friday I'll have them take care of it and I would assume it is a warranty item.

Hi Mike,

Rare, but not unherd of a shock seal failure. Sad to hear it happened...

Agreed, rare but it happens.

It should be covered under warranty, but honestly you'd probably be better off biting the bullet and upgrading to Bilstein 5100's or Eibach's for a much improved ride over the stock shocks/struts.
