Is it possible to get a second license plate in NC?

Ya, Google came up with zero answers...does anyone know if it's possible to order a second plate in a "one plate" state? My reason is that I want to avoid having to move my rear plate from truck to motorcycle hitch carrier every time I use use it...the bike block the truck plate so I have to move it to the carrier when I use it...PIA...

I wouldn't worry about it, personally. I've run with my bike carrier loaded a bunch of times without issues, and case law dictates that it's likely not a problem.

I also would not buy something like linked above, which is a "vanity" plate - those are crazy illegal to run on the road in a way that is intended to replace/mimic an actual officially issued plate.

Just ask all the people who are doing "wrapped" plates now, these started getting big right before I left and it's bad news bears if you get caught.

It's the same with any plate hider. I skipped tolls for years just relocating it under the tail of my VFR800, tucked in between dual exhaust they could never photograph it. There is one that applies an electric current to a cover to turn clear and when turned off = blacked out plate. As for legality I don't remember voting for temporary tolls to become permanent and continually rise nor flock camera systems to film me everywhere I go.
